"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
"Seeing as things are done here, we should be going," Cornyx says with a small bow to the others. "It was a pleasure."
"Great fightin' ya," Ajax says to Alex as Raven comes out of the shadows towards the two demons without a word, raising her hand and holding there against the air as her eye begins to glow.
And then they're gone, back to wherever they came, likely never to return.
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
The next hours flew by in an exhausting blur. By the time Alex has been turned in and they finished giving their statements to the police, Hades felt like he could sleep for a week. The thought of his soft, comfortable bed was more than enticing than it had been in quite some time. But before he could return to the Underworld with Perse and Cerberus in tow, there was still something he had to do.
He found Sarah on the edges of the property. She was sitting on a rock, silently watching people move about around the building. When she saw him, she lifted her head up.
"Hi," he said.
"Hi," she said back. And then, with a smirk, she added, "Uncle Alexander."
He glanced back at the hotel. "Are you going to stay here?"
She crossed her arms, blowing a strand of hair out of her face as she shifted her weight from one side to the other. "I don't know. Maybe I'll stay here. Maybe I'll travel. I haven't left here in a long time, but today made me want to know more about the world. Why?"
"I know you never believed in Greek mythology," he quietly started, "but do you want to come back with me and Perse?"
"To the Underworld?"
He nodded.
She was silent for quite some time. When she spoke again, her voice was as quiet as his had been. "I think I want to travel the world. Can I...Can I come and visit sometimes?"
He smiled. "Of course."
And that was where he left her; sitting silently on that little rock, watching the hotel that had once been her entire world.
