Roleplay Crew has some exciting news: we are officially launching Roleplay Badges! Inspired by Storybook Badges , Roleplay Badges is a new system to incentivize roleplay activity with fancy badges!
How does this work?
You earn credits by completing Roleplay Challenges. Once you collect enough credits, you will be awarded Roleplay Badges. There are two types of challenges: DM Challenges and Crew Challenges.
DM Challenges are challenges issued by the roleplay creator (referred to as Dungeon Master/DM) and are only valid for the specific roleplay for which they were issued.
Crew Challenges are issued by the Roleplay Crew and may be completed in any or all of the four roleplay forums (Storybook Sanctuary, Roleplay Realm, Roleplay Hollow, and/or Roleplay Duos).
You may complete Crew Challenges once for each Storybook you participate in, as well as once per forum for the other three forums (Realms, Hollows, and/or Duos)(i.e., if you're in 1 of each type of RP you could complete each Crew Challenge up to four times. If you're in 3 SBs, 2 realms, 1 hollow, and 4 duos, for example, you could complete each Crew Challenge up 6 times -- 1 for each SB, then once for each other category of RP). Crew Challenges completed in SBs are worth double the points they are for any other forum. The specific number of credits offered will be specified in each Challenge.
What are Roleplay Challenges?
Roleplay Challenges are an invitation for roleplayers to complete a specific objective for credit(s). Credits are cumulative for each Roleplay Badge, and the number of credits needed for each badge increases as you progress through the levels.
Challenges are issued by either the roleplay's DM or the Roleplay Crew. Each challenge awards 1, 3, or 5 credits for completion, although on rare occasions Crew Challenges may be of higher value.
Once a roleplayer completes the terms of the challenge, they claim the credits in this thread to progress and gain Roleplay Badges.

1 credit challenges: involve including a word or phrase in a post or involve dialogue or behavior.

Note: these are non-exhaustive examples meant to give you ideas for the sort of credit values you should assign for each challenge. If you have any questions or need help coming up with a challenge idea, feel free to reach out to an active member of the Roleplay Crew or post in the Roleplay Challenge Brainstorming Thread . If the Roleplay Crew see challenges that aren't awarding an appropriate amount of credits, we may reach out to you to discuss.
How do I issue a DM Challenge?
If you are the creator of a roleplay, you may issue up to 2 DM Challenges per roleplay per month. These must be open to all participants of the roleplay (i.e., no issuing challenges to a specific participant unless it is a Roleplay Duo) and can be concurrent.

Challenges will be deleted from this thread when they expire (30 calendar days after they are issued). Expired Challenges will be cataloged in the Roleplay Challenges Archive but will not be available for completion unless re-issued.
Can I complete my own DM Challenges?
Yep! But keep in mind the point of challenges is to foster activity for your roleplays, not just give you free credits. So if we notice you are consistently the only person who completes the DM Challenges that you issue, we may brainstorm with you to help you come up with challenges more members of your roleplay may want to participate with.

A member of the Roleplay Crew will then verify your claim and award you credits. Badges for the previous month will be awarded early in the following month. Please be patient and give Roleplay Crew some time to be able to process all of the credits and badges each month, but if you haven't received your badge within two weeks then post in this thread or DM a member of Roleplay Crew and ask about it to be sure we didn't accidentally miss you somehow!
As we process your credits, we will delete the post you made to claim them and add you to the Roleplay Badges Hall of Fame .
