Best Novel: Only YWS novel I started reading is not on YWS but @BluesClues Groundskeeper seems like it's going to be a great book and I've enjoyed what I had a chance to read.
Best Short Story: If you give a company your email... this one by @ShadowVyper is pretty inspiring!

Finders, keepers; losers, weepers was one of my favorites from @Seirre this year and was a fave I remember from this year's napo.
Honorable mentions ~ I really enjoy Are You Angry with Me by @tgirly, "Dust Mote Impressions" by @Liminality from early in the year is a fave that I still think about. I read so much poetry this year by so many users it's really really hard to try to narrow down things to a few favorites. :]
Best Roleplay: Nate the Dragon !! led by the capable & chaotic @Carina
Best Avatar: I have to say I really enjoyed when everyone turned their avatars into those spooky bunnies from @Arcticus - but honorable mention to everyone who still has a chicken avvie too!! (I know Rook & hannah are still holding out with their chicken avvies from July! <3)

Best Club: the club with the most poise, art, personality, beauty, etc etc -> The Chicken Fan Club :p but 21in21 (by @BluesClues + @Bees) takes my honorable mention, I've really loved it this year.
Best YWS Event: Without a doubt NaPoWriMo ran by Poetry Crew was SO much fun this year. And this year was an absolute blast just in YWS coming together and all the cute jammy gifs and avvies and the POETRY. 100/10 loved it.
Best YWS Contest: a;sldjf;lsd there were so many fun ones this year! One of my favorites to participate in and see the entries was @Seirre's Spoken Word Contest for the YWS Olympics link - honorable mention from me goes to @starlitmind's chairdelune contest which made me laugh the most.
Best Squills Column: This Month in History is my favorite to write, my favorite to read is probably the Featured Member column.
Best Knowledge Base Resource: My personal favorite is still The YWS Big Book of Records by yours truly, but filled with your accomplishments.

Best Reviewer of Poetry: @FireEyes delivered like 20 poetry reviews to me during RevMo, and always brought up intriguing points. All of PCrew are also expert reviewers and @Plume is a SUPER consistent reviewers. :]
Best Poet: Had a really fun time collabing with @Arcticus for our little poetry project this year and following his different poetry collections. (honorable mention to all of poetry crew for this one too and also SO MANY YWSERS are unbelievably talented and have written really striking poetry this year)

Best Artist: There are so many talented artists on YWS; we are very luck! I have to nominate kattee this year though! I really enjoyed @kattee's napo thread this year which combined visual art & poetry in an absolutely beautiful and creative way that I had never seen before. She is extremely talented!
Best Scriptwriter: @Spearmint & @MapleWay have been co-writing an interesting script this year. "A (totally not evil) bakesale" link
Best Roleplayer / Storybooker: @Carina somehow got me to attempt a SB momentarily and made the RP month tagbook a ton of fun! Honorable mention to @SantaYWS for most chaotic roleplayer of 2021.

There were so many fabulous Roleplays this year that three roleplays tied for best roleplay! Aether's Heart, High Point University, and Finding Nate The Dragon were all fabulous, whether in an adventurous, academic, or purely chaotic way!

This year YWSers voted for the 21in21 Club as the Best Club on the site! 21in21 challenged users to write 21 minutes every day of 2021 and all year users rose to the challenge. The club was ran by @bees and @BluesClues and will continue in 2022.

Second Place for best club went to the The Chicken Fan Club while the ever-mysterious Classified Club came away with Third Place.

Other clubs voted for this year were FH / FFH, nanaveers nana-in, the Lord of the Rings Club, Poetry Readers Club, Translation Club, and Squills Fan Club.


This year NaPoWriMo ran by Poetry Crew, was the most popular YWS event (it was so popular this year, that it had a record turn-out and the site even demanded it come back early in October!) The fun and games of Social Week led by @Carina and the mod squad, was another very popular event, coming in second place.
