@AriaAdams "Please do not break the fourth wall and interract with your writer directly in your story, though. That might freak them out more than you'd expect."
*silently remembers Deadpool and laughs*
Hm, being able to talk to my creations wouldn't freak me out, it would actually be AWESOME.

Anyways, so for the timezone chat mini-event thingy: will there be a warning message at YWS' main page when the time arrives? I believe it would be easier to avoid timezone confusions.

And why did I spend my life savings on sunglasses for a whale?
I shall find the answers... to these questions."

Is this event strictly one entry per person? How many entries per person is the limit?

It is one entry per person, to keep it fair. You can change your entry at any time while the event lasts, if you happen to write something you think is somehow better, though. And you can of course use this as a prompt to write anything else and submit it as normal work via Publishing Center ;)

As about the mini events, I think there won't be a warning message on the main page. The first event will happen in about two hours from when this post is posted (it's 3:55 pm for me now, and it starts at 6, so 2 hours and 5 minutes). I can post another reminder an hour or half an hour prior to both events, if you wish, to avoid any confusion, but really the times you read on the event page are times in your timezone (it reads differently for different people), so it shouldn't be so confusing..

@AriaAdams Please do post a reminder 30 mins before, just in case :)

It's not that confusing, I just thing it would be better for everyone this way. And also because I tend to be clumsy sometimes.

It is thirty minutes till the first mini-event in chat~
Join us as your own character and enjoy gossiping about your writer

You can take the character who narrated your contest entry, or any other, really. You can also participate if you haven't participated in the 6th Olympic event, of course, just show up c:
It in no way affects the chances of winning.

The second event will be at 9 PM GMT, for which all the same applies.

You said that the 1000 word limit was a little loose, and we could get away with a little over that. How much? I'm not done, but it's looking like my story is going to be somewhere between 1200 and 1500 words. Is that too much? I can probably reduce it some if I need too, but I'd really rather not. Mostly due to the fact that I have some stuff about the character before he starts talking about me, which is rather important, but it's about 500 words. So then if I don't have a little extra then he'd only actually be talking about me for roughly half the story, which I have a feeling wouldn't be too good, seeing as the goal is to write about him talking about me.

Well I'm lucky, I did 993 words if you don't count the writer's note, but you count it you have about 30 more words.

@ongoeslife I used a character from a story I created for a contest. Have you ever written a fiction piece for anything?

Other options:
-if you've ever written more narrative poetry from a perspective that isn't yours, flesh that out
-if you've ever done an SB, use that (I almost did this)
-use someone you've created for these events
-make up a new character
