You just lost any hope of being taken seriously with that line. "Salivate" is just so bad a word to use here, it's hilarious. I mean, no matter how you look at it, "saliva" is a completely not-sexy or even raunchy word. It's rather mundane and gross, though if you ever do find a way to make the word "saliva" sound steamy, do let me know.

As it stands, the repetition of "salivate" just cracks me up every time. That the language used in the rest of this piece is mundane to the point of being simplistic doesn't help matters either. It just makes "salivate" stand out as a giant beacon of inappropriate hilarity.
