Hopefully, I’ll get good. All y’all (I’m looking at you @Charm, @Glauke) are inspiring me to up my poet game.

I, like many of us, am stuck on a particular topic; I’ve been stuck on this one since I met her. So you know what to expect.

The title pretty much sums up my life story, but don’t worry, the great part about being lost is learning to find yourself. Maybe I’ll write about that too.

Slimmer than she'd like it
Her skin
Paler than it used to be
Her smile
Fading with the summer
Her eyes
Reaching out to me
I wonder
Could she believe it
If I could show her what I see
Because when I look into them I see
perfection
looking back at me

What is love?
Is it the feeling that washes from my head to my feet
Whenever I see
You?
Is it the feeling I get when you look in my eyes
And suddenly skies
Look blue?
Is it the way that you laugh
How it warms up my soul
Or how when you’re around
I lose all control
Is it the hole in my heart when you’re no longer close?
Is it in you too? I hope so.
The songs that you sent me remind me of me
How I feel about you.
Do you feel it too?

How can I say I love you platonically?
How can I tell her that she’s really cool
Without leading her on
Or acting the fool
I need to know soon
Because hearts may be broken
The day that she realizes that ‘hope beyond hoping’
Is just as much mine as it is hers for me
The only problem is
It’s for her best friend Ady

The sun is bright
But it should be raining
