Spoiler! :
Your poems are really great. I entered this thread a bit late. Some of your poems were formatted in a unique way, quite impressive.
The poem 24 "This Is Me Accepting You" was full of emotions. Loved it!
I only put my signature on big cheques.

Thank you @Hkumar and you aren't late at all.
Also my goal is 50-60 poems.

poem 27

Playing
undefined games
rousing your neighbors while
pursuing the world's good in a game of hide and seek and
learning it hides for a reason so you
engineer a new world for it, just because.

Poem 29

We Never Dream While Asleep

You close your eyes hoping to dance
across the silver forest chasing the moonlight
so you can catch some in your pocket for the day.
You want to see dawnbreak on the river
and sing as the merman with auburn locks like cinders
takes you away, and you both greet the day.
You close you eyes tighly, stories play across your lips
and all you see is the night's eclipse.
Oh eclipse, hopeless romantics don't make good dreamers.
They are far too awake to sleep.
But during the night our eyelids have plenty of secrets to keep.
Falling forward into the pillow and blankets
you see a dark forest full of expectations of whimsicallity....
But even as you lay there a starstruck dreamer
you know you were never asleep.
"i dont slay i slaughter, luke i am your father..." ~fatherfig

Poem 30 (I'm not stopping here.)

My Soul My Way

Line by line peice by peice
subscribe to my soul that
you may read, and no matter
what format hath befallen me
I write what I feel so that you
may see

If I
shorten a verse
If I ski---
p
with a word.
It is intentional now
I've told you and
you've heard

And if my poem
rocks
back and forth on
a
sca-t
ter-
ed
thought, then it is meant.
and change it I will
not.

So if you think that this change
will rearrange the path of my
little brain. This pixie will tell
you it will not even come close
though you may count this as
growth. <3

Here are two poems I co-wrote with Ethan today. He's posted them with his Golden Canvasses as well.

Poemverse

Passionate words flow
On a stage of their own
Enacting scenes from unwritten scripts
Made of dreams never spilled from our lips.
Vacant eyes watch from afar
Epic tales of who we are
Run like holy water from divine players' souls
Slippery limericks from day of old
Echo like fire through this temple of gold

Replacing Stars

Dancing in the moonlight, stars light the sky
Even as we watch them slowly burn out
Can we light candles to replace a star?
All we need to live, what we write about,
Shining light from the curtained void so bright
Yet still so very dim, our little lives
Laced with tapestries sewn of ancient gold.
Leave it all behind to find something new,
A better today, a bright tomorrow
Blast off with the hope of new paradise
Introducing dreams of iceless wingtips
Come with me to our new reality
"i dont slay i slaughter, luke i am your father..." ~fatherfig

poem 33

Sandwichlessness

After long days
of sandwichlessness
and bleaching acres of house
I finally do get a sandwich
and am asked
"Is it as good as the bleach?"
my only reply is a hesitant sigh
as I internally screech XP
"i dont slay i slaughter, luke i am your father..." ~fatherfig

I wrote these with @whatchamacallit and didn't know I could showcase them here. Now that I do, I'd be happy to share the stage.

Gypsy

My eyes

feel like the flame

that burns on the

tip of a candle's

wick.

My lips

glisten just like how a ruby

shines under the stars

in the dead of night.

Slick.

My dress,

sparkling purple,

hypnotises your gaze

in the flickering firelight.

Quick

as it is to

make you follow my

graceful swaying hips,

you cry 'witch' as if it

is my fault you

stick

around... but I am

a gypsy who travels by the murky

moon. Be careful, if you dare strike.

I'll vanish like a dream and leave you

lovesick.

And I'll never be found.

Loves Curse

I see the fire in your eyes. It is too much for

you to disguise. Is it loathing, do you hate me? Is it

jealous love? Vanilla bean? Or is it something undefined?

I can feel the desire as your chest rises and falls, as your heart

pounds beside mine. I want to have the whole of you.

I need to have you all.

Is the heat in your eyes, the very same demon that

brings color to my cheeks? Are those breaths you take

in, the ones ruthlessly stealing mine away? Can I even breathe

at all... We are so close, yet I know that if I stumble you'll

leave me helpless. Please save me when I falter.

I'm not ready to fall...

I resist the desire to fall for you, because if I do I

will be helpless at your knees. What if I never get back

up? What if you abandon me but I'm stuck? I don't

want to be alone, marooned on our island... If you

leave I'll feel your loss. If you stay you'll learn my

faults. I'm not sure which is worse... but they do say

love's a curse...
"i dont slay i slaughter, luke i am your father..." ~fatherfig

Look at you go! You made it to 30 wayyy ahead of time! The haiku & poem 30 were some of my faves in this last set, especially the experimental formatting in #30. Keep it up Gem! I'm curious to see how many poems you'll get in. :)
you should know i am a time traveler &
there is no season as achingly temporary as now
but i have promised to return

Poem 36

You

'You' is a word
that stands for perfect.
'You' really does deserve
it. You are a person.
And you refute this notion.
But let me tell you why.
You are sweet. You are kind.
You help me up when I fall.
Why do you? Because 'you'
is a word, that's in every story
I've ever heard. You are a champion.
You have talent. You can do whatever
you set the mind to. And why? Because
'you' has done it before. Don't you tell me
you can't. When 'you' has done it before.
'You' is a word that stands for perfect,
because 'you' is a perfect word.
And therefore you are perfect
by definition in my world.

Your Soul is a Sun (acrostic)

S hining through the void that is space
T winkling so brightly
A t such a steady pace
R eflecting off of the surface of the moon and
L ighting up every corner of the globe

G laring in my eyes because its so bright
H ailing every darkness in this saddened world
T ackling the shadows and leaving ev'ry pearle
