Badges & Contests

Along with the traditional "complete 30 poems in April challenge" there are a host of other challenges you can complete to earn a badge over the course of this month. This thread will contain the contests and instructions for contests for NaPo 2018. If you complete any of the below contests post your progress and a note of what you've completed below to claim your badge. Feel free to post any questions here as well!

NaPo Completion
Write 30 poems in April and post in your NaPo thread. Make sure to copy and paste all the links below in a spoiler.

Poem A Day
This is the classic NaPo challenge that takes special skills in productivity, time-management, and of course creativity! Write at least 1 poem every day of April with the correct time-stamps in your NaPo thread. (There is some leniency if you get a day or two off, but most should be done on the day in question and there should be at least 30 total at the end.)

Garden Challenge
This one is all about ecouraging your fellow writers! The great thing about NaPo on YWS is that we complete it in a community. So spread some joy and encouragement by completing this challenge. To claim the Garden Challenge Badge comment 30 times in the NaPo journals (other than your own), you must comment in at least 5 different journals and collect the links below. Each comment should be unique and be written in the month of April.

Poetry Jam Master
One of the fun parts of NaPo are the jams and workshops that are available! Attend (or run) at least 3 different Poetry Jams or Workshops during the month of April. To count for "attendance" you need to be in the jam for at least 20 minutes and contribute to the jam discussion. Provide the links from the Writers Feed Pad (and write the date as well as what time you attended) below to make sure you can claim your badge! Also if the times of the jams that Poetry Crew runs don't work for your schedule, feel free to run your own and get others on the site to attend! If you count a jam that you're running for this contest, it should be up for at least 30 minutes. And consider subscribing to the Poetry Jam Club so that you don't miss any of the jams available!

Relic Poet
NaPo has been around for quite a while, and each year features new challenges and contests. Complete any challenge from the past years events with proof showing what event you were trying to complete, and the completed results, and you will be awarded this badge.

Inspo Challenge
NaPo may begin in April. But for some, planning began this March! Collect all of the Inspiration during our Inspo for NaPo event to earn this badge! In order to get this badge use 20 posts from Inspo for NaPo as inspiration for your poems! You don't have to use the same 25 from the requirements for the Inspo Badge for the 20 used in your poems to get the Napo Inspo Badge.
Full Inspo Challenge Rules are here: clubs/2849/forum/77355

Neapolitan Challenge
Our NaPo theme this year is Neapolitan, and according to the ice cream flavors, Audy has crafted three mini challenges to take part in daily. The Vanilla and Strawberry Challenges are won by finding specific words, subjects or conventions in your poetry from the day before the listed challenge. And for the Chocolate Challenge you guess the most frequent word coming from all the previous day's poems. Just make sure to get your guesses in and claim the prizes as they come up, check it out, every day is a chance to win! Full instructions and winners for each day are announced here: NaPo 2018 Neapolitan Stats & Cloud Center

Napo Completion and Poem A Day:

S'io credesse che mia risposta fosse
a persona che mai tornasse al mondo,
questa fiamma staria senza piu scosse.
Ma per ciò che giammai di questo fondo
non tornò vivo alcun, s'i' odo il vero,
senza tema d'infamia ti rispondo.
