it used to be that
i could reach for someone's hand and
i would bump into elbows and sides
my chest could be filled up with laughter
the table could be filled up with people

now there is room for my elbows
and room for my legs
and room for my hands to cradle my head

room for the ghost of someone i loved
room for the person i hate and i cry for
room for the girl who's been gone for too long

too much room and not enough close
too much room and too many memories
of when this table was full of people i could trust

i could touch
one thousand things
and turn them into gold

sometimes i wish i had a tattoo
wouldn't it be fun
to mark on my skin the words
this alphabet of introspection
that i hold so dear?

i could touch
one thousand things
and turn them into gold

surrounded by glittering gems
it is hard to realize that i am flesh
that my eyes are born of genetics
not precious diamonds
cut from the earth

i found that your warmth was violent
the heat of your hands made me collapse
free thought the only tax
perfect and carved and eerily silent
i wish i could be made of wax
la so fa
la so fa
poisoning all the words i say
the sugary hatred that i eat
crawling from my lungs to my feet
gaping holes of rot and decay
sometimes it feels like i have cavities
mi re do
mi re do

i want a dictionary tattooed on my skin
every inch and mile of me
every fleshy bit of me
fill it with the words i speak
so i'll know what to say

i've always loved the way the words
can dance across the page
make me out to be a page
so as i grow and change and age
i'll dance in the same way

You've got a whole load of great poems here, but I wanted to pick this one out and say how much I like it, because it's such a wonderfully specific description of a feeling, and that makes it really vivid. :D
"The fact is, I don't know where my ideas come from. Nor does any writer. The only real answer is to drink way too much coffee and buy yourself a desk that doesn't collapse when you beat your head against it." --Douglas Adams

people get the fame
and the blame
figureheads are carved from stone
and heartbeats always fade in the spotlight

there's nothing in my brain
i am empty
i am blank
everything is null
and void
in my poetry bank

bleach me
bleach me
bone dry and brittle
til i am pale
my ache is little
if i wail
take me little by little
bleach me
bleach me
bone dry and brittle

we can float away
paint buckets for pillows
notebook scraps for sails
the sea echoes and billows
whispering of its stormy tales

inside of me is a jungle
drenched and damp
shady and secluded
unfortunately noisy

why choose to be halfway awake when you could be halfway asleep?

the call of the jungle is strong
i wish to understand it
its secret places
sometimes i feel as though i dont know it at all
it takes the shape of mighty forests
simple houseplants
faces of people i used to know
who have since gone under the waves of death
whose tide pulled them out to sea

30.
fin

the rain comes every now and then
i find it in the lighting
the static of the pre-storm
the changing of the sky

i don't question the rain-
never ask the desert why

the desert claims what it claims
and maims who it maims
and does what it wants

and when it wants rain:
oh
the desert rains

Everything in the universe has a rhythm, everything dances.
