Poem 39

Evidently to be an artist and a crafter,
I have to use Mason jars in every project.
Everything must be in pastel or the
darkest goth black to ever exist.
If that's what is required to be an
'artist', just count me out.
And I'll get off at the next bus
stop.

Poem 40

a lot of times, i wonder about my home state.
because it's another place that people will
laugh at. i could spend time arguing about all of
those things or i could just watch the
cranes dance with their chicks in the sand.
appreciating the beauty is a distraction
from being angered by the faults.

poem 43

it's past the point of no return.
or at least it's a bit too late to
make a u turn. i thought that
i could manage all of this, but
i'm failing fast as the ground
falls from under my once steady
feet.

poem 44

people like to compare other people to animals.

sometimes it's done in very good ways.
saying that someone is gentle like a lamb.
cute like a puppy or a kitten or some other
cuddly baby animal. these are all comparisons
of something that you would want to be around.
perhaps even things that people try to purposely
seek out.
but then there are the people who
are thought of in the worst sense of animal,
such a cruel comparison to make. slippery
like an eel, imply some level of distrust
for this person, whoever they may be.
to say that someone is a loner, they
are compared to wild animals like
wolves. but this comparison
strikes odd, for a lone wolf
may temporarily leave a
pack, but it will even-
tually return to them.
everyone always
goes home. but
this model says that some don't.

poem 45

the little red fox will run across the bank,
looking to keep up with its litter mates,
who moved so much swifter than he did.

not only did they move faster, they re-
mained focused on the target. he fell
to the equally cute little distractions
along the way.

there was the mushroom and the tree
and the little green sprouts sticking
up all over the place. enough to catch
the eye of a mischievous little fox.

does he run along or does he stay there,
looking at something that was just a blur,
as everyone else ran swiftly past.

poem 46
inspo: http://www.wec.ufl.edu/extension/i/head ... oise01.jpg

the tortoise talks to the tapir.
they both have an appreciation
for lettuce, take out their cook
books, and begin discussing all
the possible salads to eat.

poem 47
inspo: https://mgtvwjbf.files.wordpress.com/20 ... ybaras.jpg

capybaras can coach cockroaches to do the can-can.
they swing and they sway, do a flip and twirl their
skirts. but still no one can can-can like the tuna
fish can.

poem 48
inspo: https://tallahasseemuseum.org/wp-conten ... d-wolf.jpg
http://www.aaanimalcontrol.com/blog/arm ... lorida.jpg

a red wolf whines to an armadillo.
the shell cased creature rolls around
in the dirt, looking for some grubs to
eat. the red wolf looms, trying to
decide if it's time to take a bite.

alright let's do some catch up.
wrote some poems late last night.

poem 51

"here i am"
the different men
might say, when
they answer a
higher power,
trying to figure
out where the
sound is coming
from.

poem 52

waiting in the forest,
one can always hear
the birds sing out.

listen to what they
may say, they know
better than any of us.

It's unsettling to know how little separates each of us from another life altogether.
— Wes Moore, The Other Wes Moore
