#29

It’s just television.
Bars and tone that pierce ear drums.
Dust settling on tape decks
and digis dropped on the floor.
Darling is my name, or hun, or babe.
I am reduced to one character,
a punching bag of frustration.
Always caught between the angry
and the angered.
Don’t ask me your questions.
Let me sit for five more minutes.
This soup is cold
and I haven’t had enough caffeine.
Everyday I don’t want to do this anymore
and everyday you remind me why.
Enough.
I'll go back tomorrow
and do it all again.

#30

you make me wonder
if music is all there is
or if rhythm is just
the introduction
to something better

Congrats on completing NaPo!! :) You have quite a variety of poems here. I find a lot of them to be quite thought provoking as well; particularly #28 & #30 in your recent work. These lines are excellent:
"It’s never easy to admit
the depth of inadequacy
that sits hollow inside,
everyday."

There's just such a raw authenticity to your poetry. Really lovely work! :)

Hooray, you finished! Congratulations! (I have 6 to go, eek!)

I love so many of these. I recognised the things in #8! And #17 made me laugh. And #10 made me sad :( and #22 made me sad in a different way :( And all of these are great, is what I'm saying :P

If I told you what it meant @niteowl I'd have to explain what @Demeter's meant :o

Well done for finishing!! I'm so glad you decided to do NaPo and I really do wonder why you always insisted you couldn't do poetry because clearly you can xD hopefully it doesn't stop here!

Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.
— Brené Brown
