Poem Twenty-Seven

Punishment Limerick No. 1
(I am writing this as part of a punishment for assisting in the killing of the discord chat) @Castor

My sister was was craving falafel,
but then she saw a special on waffles.
She couldn't decide
on which treat to dine.
She ate both, and now she just waddles.

Poem Twenty-Eight

Punishment Limerick No. 2
(I am writing this as part of a punishment for assisting in the killing of the discord chat) @Castor

I live by Missy the Elephant,
who likes dinner to be elegant.
Here, you'll find no Budweiser,
and only fancy appetizers.
Not to mention her desserts-- they're decadent.

Poem Twenty-Nine

Sunburned Sonnet
@Castor

How can one like the burning light of day?
The sun does nothing but bring pain to me.
I even slather sunblock thoroughly--
I even burn when skies are gloomy gray.
If you're outside, please don't ask me to stay
where heat and light will make me bend a knee
to praise the tyrant of the skies and seas.
I'll char if touched by any fearsome ray.

I know my skin and soul belong to night--
There is no clearer sign than ruddy cheeks
and peeling skin that blisters at day's touch.
I'll cower when I step into the light
and wonder at the power that it keeps.
I'll keep the moon and bear the sun no grudge.
"So many poems growing outta them they're practically a poet-tree"

Poem Thirty

i maxed out my credit card last night
during a drunk run to jack-in-the-box
where i purchased chicken nuggets and anxiety.

this morning i woke up and drank
flat, warm, watery, leftover coke.

Congrats on completing 30 poems for NaPo! :) I have to say that both #26 & #30 made me smile. #26 because yay for unconventional formatting and #30 because the line "where i purchased chicken nuggets and anxiety" and the watery coke at the end. Yep. I can relate. :D [well, I haven't ever maxed out my card on chicken nuggets, but my love of them really has no bounds...] Nice work, Morrigan! :)
you should know i am a time traveler &
there is no season as achingly temporary as now
but i have promised to return

Congrats on finishing!

There's quite a variety in tone here, from the more introspective to the humorous. I like it! :D
