Sorry to have kept you waiting even longer but a decision has finally been reached!
Congratulations to our four semi finalists in bold below and to those who leave us at this stage, thank you for submitting such wonderful poems and making this competition such a close, exciting journey!
Two of these matches were decided by less than a point so I honestly mean it when I say you're making it hard for us to judge!
Congratulations to all of the contestants who made it to the semi-finals! I'm very proud of you all, but I'm also proud of everyone who entered the contest--it's a brave feat! <3
don’t forget me, even when life drifts us apart and we end up on opposite ends of an invisible equator.
but the ocean joins us together, for its waters form meandering paths for our bottled messages that mindlessly drift without ever reaching its recipient;
they can never deliver the message that the reaper's shadow falls and scoops me up in its arms at harvest time, and you'll never realize it, even if the fall leaves plummet at that moment.
you’ll wonder what happened, yet never see me again; and gradually time will settle her veil that bathes your memories in oblivion.
my life will be molded into the past, as you forget me.
We like to keep the suspense building, which is definitely why these results are late and not just because I was out playing board games last night!
The other judges are wonderful as always though and had their scores in on time so without further ado, I give you the exciting and nerve racking results of the semi finals!

(Okay for real this time with winners in bold below!)
Well done to each of our semi finalists and thank you for taking part and entertaining us with your beautiful poems.
This means our final is between Willard the Warrior Writer and Lumi the Lavish Lyricist!
Submissions open from 10:00pm GMT tomorrow and will remain open until 10:00pm GMT on the 30th. The same rules apply as for the semi final - any poem written this April can be submitted!
Alright, everyone. This competition was fuuuuuun. And surprising at every turn. So I give my final submission that I hope you all enjoy, from the beginning three of my NaPo. (If reading on mobile, please switch to landscape as some lines are quite long by intention.)
iii. base jump
there is no metaphor here when i say when he told me to jump off a bridge, i did.
and the gut-plunge of the bungee cord echoes when i think of him even now. right now, writing a letter to you about men and bridges,
and how i've grown to trust neither.
but the rush of falling is just that: so quick and extreme that it enters our dreams. and i wonder if this is because we are born headfirst out of equilibrium, or if we've watched too many stars, or if we've shot down to earth from a soul collective in a universe adjacent, or a warning that we will fall again and again - and again--
never to hit a bottom but to understand that we chose to dive from the bridge because this beautiful man with auburn eyes told us to, and these dreams are an eternal base jump, time to ruminate on his Versace cologne, or how we let him love us unconditionally until this, the adrenaline of true love.
but--
he never cut the cord, you know. i just didn't ask if it was tied down.
I am a forest fire and an ocean, and I will burn you just as much as I will drown everything you have inside.
