This week is all about trying to make a poem scream, cry, and love for these prompts! Emotion in poetry is a huge part of how a poem is received and provides a great backdrop for people to connect with a writer. To really do this effectively, we need to make a connection.

=STRUCTURE, LINES, & BREAKS=

Recently there's been a kick to get back on the structured poetry bandwagon, but structured poetry isn't the only structure poetry has. Poetry should be structured to have the language flow naturally, and also structured for natural line breaks, and stanza breaks. These strucutres in a poem can support it like a good bra. It's hidden in capitalization, punctuation, and meter of a poem as well as any formal structure a poem may have. The next several challenges all are focusing on structure, lines, stanzas, and breaks.

=VOICE=

Finding your voice can be difficult to do in any writing. Whether it's a voice for a novel, or a poem, the process is a tedious choice of like and dislike. Voice changes over time, and while it may provide you with help for how to write for a little while, it might also cramp you into just writing a certain way. It's good to explore, so that's what these next prompts are here to help you do. This last week, really push to see if you can create an interesting voice for your last few poems.
