and so the adventure begins--
pouring rain and thunder clouds
rush over the plains in fit of anger
(only you can become the sunlight over
this chaos).
racing down hills of slippery green and past
the old, white chipped mailbox and the shed out back
while you only smiled that poisoned grin, viper lips and
green eyes. i held on for dear life yet,
you broke that like the old chain link fence we kissed by
under the summer moon--
(promise me, you'll never leave and maybe
we can start over again).
and so the adventure begins--
we cut our promises and wore them
around our pinkies and then rolled down a lost hill,
forgetting our name and making a silly purpose
(landlocked and ready).
