Hello!

Completely unaffiliated with YWS and official contests in any way, I'm inciting you to write a story that I will personally enjoy!

It should be a love story, be that a romance or otherwise, but love should be the central theme no matter what.

One or all of your characters should be on lockdown, or in a similar situation. It can be contemporary, historical, fantasy, whatever takes your fancy.

It can be posted in one part or in multiple parts but overall the word count should be less than 10,000.

The prize will be a 20 euro/$25 dollar gift voucher for Amazon/Barnes & Noble/a bookseller of your choice. Kids, please check with a parent or guardian that they're happy for me to email you one of these!

I will 100% be letting personal bias be a part of my judging. This means that the story should give me the warm fuzzies. It doesn't necessarily have to have a happy ending, but I love a little humour and am a total sucker for trope-y love stories.

All entries will receive a review from me.

Closing date is the 20th June.
"Stella. You were in my dream the other night. And everyone called you Princess." -Lauren2010

@StellaThomas is brilliant and I kind of wish I had thought of doing this.

Heck, I may attempt to write fiction.

I also maybe with Ari was still lurking around here, because I think she would rock this and that makes me sad

AHHHH

edit: must the cause of lockdown be related to quarantine or can it be something else (like a castle siege, etc etc)?

@PrincessInk - exactly! The "lockdown" can be for any reason- a castle under siege is a pretty good example!

Hey! I am interested in writing one, I just am not interested in the prize. I am doing this purely for practice. :) :)

@StellaThomas

Does the whole story have to be in lock-down, or just some of it?

Just some is fine! As long as there's a recognisable lockdown element I'm cool

Question!

Does it have to be posted via publishing centre?

Also, does it have to be written form, or can it include audio or images?
We were born to be amazing.

These are questions I hadn't considered! Via publishing centre is preferable or at least some way that is easily accessible to anyone who would like to read it. Re pictures/audio, I'm not totally against it, but there should be a clear story/narrative. If a multimedia approach makes that easier, okay, but if it's just art/music without a strong sense of narrative it'll lose you points.

Hi all!

I've only seen one entry so far and technically the deadline is past! I don't really mind so much, but just want to check in because quite a few people have told me they have ideas in the works and I would love to see them! So I'm going to extend the deadline until the 12th July, officially. Keep me in the loop, excited to see what you write!
