Attempt Two: First Attempt I accidentally posted on my main account, oopsies. That took too long to notice, but thankfully another saved me from the embarrassment of that. Moving on from that, our Rankings for the week! Sorry about that mis-post. - N

Rankings:

In fifth place, we have @Nikayla with 29 reviews!

Spoiler! :
Monster: where the goal is for you to have a review that has a length of 7,500 characters or more without quotes. Proof can be done by sending us a screenshot of the review after you submit it via PM with the subject line "Monster Review". Once we see that, we will supply you with the snazzy square.

Chainmail: review five or more chapters of the same novel. Please link them in your log, like with any review, and notate the fact that they are a chainmail review!

Our new article for the week happens to be from @LadySpark, and it tackles the topic of harsh reviews, in a sense, and the difference between constructive criticism and just being plain mean.

Ending Statement:

Last newsletter, there was a change in the rules. If you didn't get to see that, then just scroll up! :P

Thank you all so much for participating in our contest! We know that it can be difficult at times to review regularly, but hopefully R.E.D. will have least helped in setting a healthy habit after it ends.

Here is the link to our Discord server, for those who don't like sending in PMs!

Linking again from last week, here's a banner to put at the end of your reviews!

I think I dropped out a while ago but didn't say anything so yeah. This stressed me out too much and just thinking about how long RED goes on for >.> I thought I could do it but I guess things like NaNo are only a month long but this is like 3 months long.

Battle Tactics: Reviewing the Unreviewable

This week's article is by @Tenyo, tackling a topic that we all should learn to do: Reviewing the Unreviewable. It goes on about how to tackle those pieces that can be monsters and sit in the Green Room for weeks.

Ending Statement

As mentioned earlier, the Green Room is pretty empty right now! As of writing this, there are only 46 works total. That's absolutely fantastic. After seeing the results of the last Review Day, we're really excited to see how this progresses! Will we be able to keep the Green Room below 50 works until the end of March? Will the evil freakforchrist be defeated?

Don't change the channel! Stay tuned for next time on The Adventures of R.E.D.!

For fear of sounding super repetitive, I just want to say thanks a bunch. We only have a few weeks left, since this ends on March 31st, so to see this amount of progress is great.

As always: here's the link to our Discord server for those who prefer it over sending in PMs. Feel free to contact us at any time and we will get back to you ASAP.

Once again, thank you all so much.

Wow, this was posted in 2007. This week's article is critique: line by line, or general? by @something euclidean

Ending Statement:

You lot have been keeping the Green Room under a hundred works for awhile now! Great job to all of you--we haven't seen the Green Room so empty of things to review in awhile, and that's not a bad thing! Let's see if we can clear it once again this upcoming Review Day, as it seems like a managable feat. We're on the final stretch of the contest, with only a couple of weeks left. Many have come, some have gone, you who are left, have stayed! And that's amazing.

Here is the link to the Discord server once again, for those who wish to use it over PMs. Thanks for working so hard, and keep up the great work!

Hey, I'll have to quit. ;-; I don't think I can review early enough to avoid the penalties. I think I've hit the penalty and has yet to pay for it. o.o

You handful that are left in the contest are still doing great, and don't stop just because we're nearing the end! There's only two or so weeks left, and we're amazed that you've all lasted this long. Keep it up, you lot.

Last two articles! Since NaPo is coming up, why not have our last recommended articles be about poetry? :P

How To Make a (Poetry) Review Go Further by @Lumi
How to poetry review by @Monsters

Ending Statement:

Congratulations to @Falconer, @Mea, and @EternalRain for winning the contest! As said in the start of the contest: third place gets 20% of the points in my account, second place gets 30%, and first place gets 50%! But that's not all, third place also gets two reviews from the members behind this Contest account, second place gets three, and first place gets five! We'll be sending out a PM with the points earned, asking which works the respective winners would like to have reviewed, and with a choice between the two main Contest reviewers!

Everyone should receive all of their prizes before April 30th. If you somehow did not receive it beforehand, then send us a PM and we'll get it all resolved. (Don't worry, we plan to set alarms this time in order to not forget.)
