Stori- It could be your flash player. this post explains it a bit more.

Or, it could be your browser. In the above-reported issue, it was the person's browser.

If that still doesn't work, just try posting on Report a Site bug so Nate's more likely to see it.

Mine does the same as Stori's. It just comes up with the border along the top, with all the buttons, but just a blank white field. o.O It doesn't even say it's loading :/ I tried the cookies and Flash Player; still nothing.

It could be a browser issue, then. Sometimes the chat just doesn't work for some people. Nate hasn't been able to figure out why.

Tiger, try logging in using this version of chat. I can't promise anything, but it's worked for me when the other didn't.

Why do you have to be a member for at least 24 hours before chatting?

Silly Answer: It's so you can get used to the site before plunging into the often crazy, sometimes intimidating, world of Chat. You see, we've found that new members have a better chance of retaining their lives if we ease them into the whole Chat experience. Not that most Chat regulars retain their lives anyway.

Serious Answer: It's to encourage new members to explore other sections of the site first, and also to help cut down on chat spammers.

Hi WGirl and welcome! :)

To post your writing, click the "Read/Write" tab on the top, choose a forum, and click "Post a new topic" on the right hand side of the page.

And to review other people's writing, again, choose a forum, click on any title on the page, and choose either "Post a reply" on the right or "Show quick reply"/"Full reply" below the story/poem itself.

Happy navigating! Don't hesitate to ask for help whenever you need it.

Look at the "Read/Write" tab up top, then look for the poetry forums there. Pick the forum you think is best, then hit "post new reply" on the side of that forum. Copy your poem into the textbox, title it, and hit "submit"!

Just a quick question; when you create a chatroom, how do you delete it?

Once everybody in the chatroom has left it, then it gets automatically deleted.
