Independent ebook Inspire publishing are looking for submissions.

We specialise in 'inspirational' stories about mental health issues in children, teenagers and young adults. We want to publish young writers and make them write about their experiences, or someone they know or a current affairs inspired story. This is a great opportunity for you to bring awareness to a topic that affects up to 40 million people a year.

We invest in people and not just ideas so we are looking for talented writers in the following areas:

· Literary/commercial fiction
· Crime and psychological thrillers
· Young Adult fiction
· Narrative non-fiction

We publish light reads ranging from 100-200 pages to longer reads of 300+ pages.

This is your chance to gain exposure as an author by making your books readily available to buyers on the market.

If selected you will receive an attractive contract from us potentially making up to 40 percent of monthly sales from Amazon!

Post any questions below or through PM. Otherwise, submit by sending a short message to: niro@onetimetwice.com

Do you have a website? How do you handle contracts with minors? What rights does the author once the piece is submitted?

Am afraid website is under construction. The parent/carer would need to sign it if you are a minor. In respect to rights it varies from author to author. As we are independent we do what is in the best interest of the writer. We are more about building a long-term relationship keeping them happy.

Are there any fees?

Is the author required to purchase any copies of their book once published?
I wrote the above just for you.

All the costs are covered by us. All you do is submit a manuscript. We specialise in ebooks. In the event the ebook becomes successful we will publish paperbacks.

We encourage people to write to get their works published on Amazon kindle. Some authors are good a couple of ebooks later so we come to a fair arrangement.

And what would you say is the benefit to publishing through you, as opposed to directly self-publishing through Amazon?

(Just trying to get a better grasp of what it is you offer.)

We have a fantastic marketing team that will make your ebook visible everywhere through SEO. You can have a great ebook but it will drown amongst several hundred other ebooks if you cannot market it well.

And how would you market it? As in, where would it be, and how often. Most publishers do not do that without a fee; are there additional costs for marketing, or is that covered by you as well? Also, do you have professional editors and cover artists? All of those are important to a new author. I have self published on amazon a few times, and I know it isn't actually all that hard to advertise on your own without spending a penny. How would your services be more effective than that Amazon would offer? (If your book is in KDP select.)

Oh, one more thing that I think you forgot. What are your royalty rates? You've got to give us some more info here. Remember, if you want to attract an audience, but you don't have any info on yourself, people will think you're a scam.

So let me get this straight.

You do marketing exclusively for SEO which is next to nothing in terms of the actual amount of marketing required, you don't have a website, you have no way at all for us to check your validity, you have no set basis of rights at all, and you have said you'll get up to 40% of the royalties... when Amazon.com only offers 70% options within the US, and 35% elsewhere.

Are you saying that 40% is directly from the sales, or 40% from that royalty cheque? How can you say people are going to get 40% of their sales from Amazon when its highest for international sales is 35%?

How will you get contracts to minors? What are the very basic set of rights you outline for all authors? What are the bare minimum rights you take?

Your book would vanish without a trace without 'good' marketing. Self-publishing is great only if you want to wait a long time to make any returns. We do not work exclusively on SEO: we aggressively market to make it search engine optimised so it is visible. A great marketing team makes a huge difference and self-publishers lack that.

The fees you suggest vary on price. But, let us take 30 percent as an example what we do is convert that figure and split it 40-60.

I have to disagree with you there. I self published, and have recieved 2,000+ downloads within a few months. You just have to work on it a lot. I assume you understand we find it hard to believe this to be completely trustworthy if all you offer is a marketing team and you don't even have a website yet. Without a website, Preditors and Editors has no information on you, making you rather suspicious. Also, advertising your publishing services before you have your website up and running shows rather poor planning on your part. I assume you understand why we're being so careful right now. Could you show us something to prove your validity?
