Writers' Forum is a UK based magazine, although the competitions are open to all nationalities worldwide so long as the entries are in English. The magazine can also be downloaded as an app on an iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. They hold monthly contests for both poetry and short stories. It does cost to submit entries, but in general, the prices aren't too bad. There is no age limit for entrants.
