do you have any words used exclusively by your local town/city/state?
here's some from manchester or perhaps england as a whole (i couldn't say)
dead - adjective for very/really. eg. "he's dead good"
nowt/owt- nothing/anything.
walley - kicking a football against a wall
ee ar - basically just a means of grabbing attention, get people to listen to you.
minging/minger - ugly or disgusting.
rank - disgusting
scrotes - i reckon this is just a shorter form of "scrotum" lol. just refers to scallies or people that hang around annoying people. do you have scallies in america? y'know dodgy looking youths you do nothing.
skive/skiving - take the day off school
coppin off - having a snog
scran - food
skint - having no money
Oh, I could go on forever. Anyway, this is what I regularly hear from where I live. I say most of them lol. My fave is actually saying "quality" as an adjective for basically anything that's good.
So, does anyone else have some? I find this fun. Let's hear some American ones.
