what NOT to read
these books are often confused for being good vampire lit:
-The Chronicles of Vladmir Tod
-Twilight Series (worst.books.ever)

Dracula is ok
I have yet to find good vampire literature! There's vampire manga that's okay though...

If you are into adult-ish vampire books, there is a series, the first book in the series is Guilty Pleasures. The author is Laurel K. Hamilton. They are EXCELLENT!!

The author Maggie Shayne has some good ones out. I have read Prince of Twilight and Twilight Hunger. (Both are really good) I love any book that has to do with vampires, they are the best fictional creatures ever created! (or are they really fictional?) Just bite me now!

Ive Got 2 Books 4 u. Both R AMAZING.
The 1st one: Bad Blood by Rhainon Lassiter [hope i spelled her name right :P]
It's not about vamps but its a supernatural book and really gets the 'kick' outta u.
The 2nd is actually a series: The Demonata by Darren Shan. It has like 10 books in it? the last one is gonna be published in May 2009. The books r HILARIOUSLY AMAZING.

Trust Me, U'll LUV EM!

:) Happy Reading (:

Vampire beach: bloodlust

The whole series. They are an easy read, but entertaining.
It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.

Sunshine by Robin McKinley. A very original vamp story, not like Twilight or Dracula or Anne Rice or any of that.

Also The Silver Kiss by Annette Curtis Klaus, the same lady that wrote Blood and Chocolate. It's different as well, and kinda quirky.

try stephen kings early work.
Cujo, The Shining, The Mist

The Shining will scare the crap out of you.

if you want a good vampire book read Let The Right One In. it's a thousand times better than the overated twilight series, very serious very dark.

actually made into a movie and is on DVD now. didn't get the attention it deserved, prob the best vampire movie ever made.

haruno, let the right one in won't disapoint you as well.

I admit, late 19th century doesn't translate well.

Umm...it still rocks, and hey, he's the father of all modern day vampires, the great-grandady of them all.

Sigh...of course, cutting edge, that's a complete different thing.
