"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
@Lael I am! totally! haha, I just thought it'd make more sense for you to go next, but if it makes most sense for them to lull into silence for a bit I can write a little filler piece and move it along a bit
Seung sneezed again, and shivered underneath his borrowed layers. His scarf was starting to feel clammy against his neck. By now, he felt much more like himself - much more sensible. Slowly, he took the scarf off and placed it gently to dry by the fire. He could feel his eyes closing . . .
"And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:7
James gave a sharp nod. He just didn't want him falling asleep and not waking up. "Just making sure. But... by all means, get some rest. We won't be able to do much while we wait out the rest of the storm anyway."
James looked to Tasha, hoping his nonverbal glance communicated that they would take turns sleeping, because even with the storm outside, they needed someone keeping watch.
She seems to get it and nods her head slightly in agreement.
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
The night passed slowly, with Tasha and James taking turns staying awake, to watch the others, and each other, and the door of the cave. The cold storm passed away, leaving the air chilled, and the ground covered in a thin layer of snow, but all else was fine. The sun was out - shining brightly against all odds. It was, after all, spring, which was why the snowstorm was so unnatural... hence the bear being the only reasonable explanation (though James groaned at the thought of considering it reasonable, with it being so odd and unlikely).
As the sun shone into the cave on the sleeping occupants, everyone began to stir. James stretched out on the ground, having already been awake since he'd been on watch.
He had no idea what he was going to do about the three people he'd somehow accumulated, but he knew he couldn't throw them out into a world in which they were wholly unfamiliar and expect them to fend for themselves. Or at least, he couldn't in good conscience do so, as much as he would've wanted to.
He yawned, and looked over at Tasha, who was presumably asleep.
