"I'm a guardswoman, a bounty hunter, and a soldier," she finally explains.
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
She shrugs. "Not cool when you're dead, dying, or are missing an eye or limb."
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."

Thanks for waiting for me, you guys! I really appreciate. And I'm sorry for taking so long to reply. I was watching some TV with my family last night and didn't have a chance to write something out.
Upon hearing Tasha say what her profession was, guilt bombarded Leon. He had always felt guilty for what he had done for the past two years of his life, but comparing it to all of the good things she had done made him feel even worse. It didn't matter that he had helped people out while working for Perseus - he had still been a part of the organization in the first place.
"What got you into your job?" he finally said, his voice quiet. He didn't meet her eyes.
"Redemption," she answers. "The opportunity to live. To start over."
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
She chuckles dryly. "Noble? Not really. Intense? Quite so."
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
Leon looked up. "So you weren't a 'good guy' before?" he questioned, making air quotations as he did so. Maybe she could help him deal with what he had been through. He was sure that she had to have experienced worse things than he had, but whatever advice she had to offer - if he was correct - would be appreciated.
She doesn't look up, instead continuing to cook the rabbit. "I was first a killer, then a thief, then a prisoner, then a guard. So no, not by any means."
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
He pushed a strand of blond hair out of his eyes. After using other forms more frequently than his actual one, it was easy to forget just how much of annoyance his hair could be. "So how do you deal with it?" he quietly asked, suddenly feeling much smaller than he already was.
"I learned discipline. I took an oath, I swore my life to protect, and I live by that code every minute, every day. I never stop fighting. When it gets me, when it takes my dreams, I tell myself my code and I turn that guilt and fear and hate into fuel to keep myself going," she answers, not looking up. "Sometimes that's all we can do, is do what's right as much as we can and comfort ourselves with the knowledge that we try to redeem ourselves and that we'll never go back."
"All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost."
