How do I change the background of my profile thing? Also how do I make a link for things when I comment? Like I might want to link something to one of writing pieces.
What is life without books?

Profile-

Click the gear in the line of tabs up top. This reveals a new line of tabs. Click "Profile". To the left there should be a list of options. Click "Edit style" at the bottom. Then you can find a link to an image you want and set it as the background.

Links:

Code: Select all
[url=http://www.youngwriterssociety.com/]YWS[/url]

YWS

Basic principle:

[url=(link you want)]what you want it to show up as[/url]
A writer is a world trapped in a person— Victor Hugo

Ink is blood. Paper is bandages. The wounded press books to their heart to know they're not alone.

From checking your profile, it looks like you've figured out the profile things. :)

Linking (just in case you're still not sure how to) is really easy. There's two main ways. The first and easiest one is to just copy-paste the URL of the work you want to link and it will automatically link for you. Like this:

viewtopic.php?f=323&t=97838#p1141011

The second option is a bit neater because you can make some text a link. You can do that by using this code:

Code: Select all
[url="URL of the thing you want to link"]text you want to use as the link[/url]

It will result in something like this:

Here's a link to the first post in this thread.
