For images, the BBCode should work anywhere on the site. First, put your image on an online storage site like Photobucket if it's not online already. Then, copy the image url and put it between the image tags.

Code: Select all
[img]image url[/img]

As for videos, I've never done this, but there's detailed instructions here: The Big Book of YWS Codes

Also, on the People tab only, you can attach a picture to a status update using the little icon next to "Post Comment". This works for pictures on your computer or on your phone that aren't online, which is convenient.

Hi,

I was just wondering, what is the point in following people? Do you get updates on when they post things? If so where can you find these updates?
Thanks in advance.

@IncohesiveScribbles, when you follow someone, you get to see their status updates, when they post new works, when they like a work or topic, when they review a work, and more. All of this is accessed by the People tab at the top of the page, right between Forums and Poetry!

Are the posts I put here copyright protected? I want to share my ideas and chapters in the book section, but at the same time I don't want anybody stealing.

Hmm, that's strange. I'm not sure what's up, but could you please drop your bug report here? >> Report a site bug

Our site admin and tech support should help you out. Hope that works!

I don't think we have font codes on YWS. I could be wrong though so I'll tag @Nate to answer your question.

You can make a spoiler by using this code:
Code: Select all
[spoiler]Text goes here.[/spoiler]

In a post, that would look like this:
Spoiler! :
Text goes here.

Hello!

This color is for the administrators of our site. This color is for our global moderators, which means they moderate the entire site. This color is for our Junior moderators, who are sectional moderators and only have one section of the site to moderate. The guy in black is Nate, the owner and head administrator of the site.

This color and this color just marks a member who used to be a global moderator or junior moderator and retired from staff.

Finally, an extra color is only around this month because of an event we had in September. That's why you're seeing the pink/gold/whatever's-next usernames :)

Does that help?
