So, when I have been trying to type my poem into the publishing center, I can't simply press enter to type a new line, as it automatically puts an empty line in between the two. For example:

I have learned to hate the dark,

where the secrets lie,

This is not a desired effect. Does anyone know how to make this not happen?

Hi. :P In fact I do! Unfortunately, the double-spacing is just how the publishing center works. To make lines single-spaced, you have to press shift+enter every time you make a new line. Alternatively, you could put a little dash in between stanzas. (But it looks better to do the single spacing IMO.)

Also, after I post this I'm going to move this thread to the Questions and Answers forum, since this is a question about how YWS works rather than anything specific to writing poetry. If you have any questions about stuff like that, just shoot me a PM. ;)

I think you, @Deanie and I are like the Three Book Nerd Musketeers of YWS.

So, please, oh please, we beg, we pray, go throw your TV set away, and in its place you can install a lovely bookcase on the wall.
