Love the vinyls!! I have a painted vinyl in my room by a Scottish artist who also paints skateboards, and their shape looks so fun to paint on. Your concept for each vinyl is really cool! And of course your painting is incredible as always. Paul Simon would be proud. What gave you the idea to paint on vinyls, was that a requirement for the art project?
For a senior art project I painted on mirrors, and it surprisingly didn't end in disaster. Painting on materials that weren't intended to be painted on is a lot of fun (not that I paint much at all anymore)
Also, YOUR PREVIOUS PROJECT FOR YOUR MIDTERM!! OMG! <33 I didn't see it until now but I love absolutely it! You communicate the Lastania Abarta events so effectively that I can't really describe it in words, other than to say you excel in "show, don't tell". d: The endings especially are so powerful!

@CoffeeCat gahhh <333 thank you so so much!!! You are so sweet.
I got the idea to paint on vinyls in a place where I always get the best ideas: the shower. Lol! I love vinyls too and they tie in with the topic nicely so I thought it might be fun to try! The prompt for the final was literally these four words and nothing more: "create a rebellious artwork." I definitely could have pushed that further, but I hope painting on vinyls and being a bit more loose with my painting style was enough! I also talked about some of Paul's "rebellious" history during my critique, particularly when a bunch of people hated on him for collaborating with South African artists during the apartheid, but he didn't care because he was doing it for the sake of music. I didn't really show that though. Oh well d:
That's really cool that you have a painted vinyl!! I had never heard of painting on vinyls before, so for a little while there I thought I was being pretty original haha but since working on this project I've seen/heard of a bunch of other examples. Now I might ask my dad if he doesn't care for any vinyls in his collection. Cuz it was a lot of fun to paint on them!!
Paint more!! ;-; And then show me! And show me the mirror project! You should try painting with coffee :0
Oh gosh thank you so much! I'm very happy that you think I told her story effectively! <33 It means a lot.

I made little comic strips all featuring a dachshund named Spaghetti when I was... eight years old? They're so bad they're funny. I need to get better at human anatomy before I try comics again!

I spent a good seven hours on this guy last night. He was supposed to be Ludo, the main character from my western novel, who is a normal human man. But I really wasn't liking how his head/face was working out.
Hah, he'd look pretty funny with a velociraptor head, I mused.
...
But actually though... *messy sketch of a dino head* Okay yep, we're keeping that.

That texture was super lucky. I've never really tried textures before, and the first brush I tried, with its size upped to the max, layer set to softlight, worked perfectly!
