Index cards. Lot's and lot's of index cards.

I usually have a ton of ideas that I need to narrow down, as opposed to the opposite problem. (Which is no ideas) So I find which ones would work well as shorter, messily written things and pick those to have fun with.

I also stock up on coffee, and save all my halloween candy for the month. ;)

This is actually the odd year where I've done endless planning: I have outlines, character profiles, location profiles, weather, timelines, descriptions and pictures of the things I needed to have descriptions and pictures of, ideas for sequels, you name it.
