there's something bitter about falling leaves
caught too quick in autumn wind;
they've lived their whole lives to change
and when they finally reveal
their flames in golden orange and crimson red,
they die, just when they've become
beautiful.
you should know i am a time traveler &
there is no season as achingly temporary as now
but i have promised to return

Me.

No one sees.

No one knows.

Me.

My secret.

My scars.

My pain.

My mind.

Me.

I look in the mirror,

I don't see myself.

I am not who I was yesterday.

Eyes more tired.

The light no longer reflects within my eyes.

The scars are healing up, but they'll always be there.

I didn't think that I'd be who I am, today, yesterday.

Me...

I am like every single human being,

Ever-changing, every single day.

Tomorrow, I will not be the same as I was, today.

Maybe I will smile more.

I might smile less.

I don't know who I am, or who I will be, but I do know who I am.

I am, Me.

icy//begin

the cold wind drew
a slight line across
their dry face.

the figure hummed
before releasing
a breath of air.

soon the sun will
shine and heat
the weather more.

maybe then they
could start on
their walk home.

there's something sort of romantic
about poems that are never read,
messages trapped in bottles forever at sea,
letters turned to ash before they're addressed,
like the world kept a secret to herself
and thought it too precious
to tell another soul.
you should know i am a time traveler &
there is no season as achingly temporary as now
but i have promised to return

she took a moment to speak,
to let a word fall from her
chapped lips from biting them,
her teeth yellowed by her love
of tea, but no air fell, and thus
she stayed, hovering in a
lost chance at a simple
conversation again.

(((this isn't really that poem-y, but I was told to write and write I did)))

consider the table next to the trashcan;
imagine a sticky, greasy place with good food that fills but does not empty and there it is. the table no one sits at

i think that being the third friend is a lot like being that table

you're not hated,
you're just never especially wanted

so if, perchance, the table where to play a game of waterballoon toss,
or three legged race,
or go on fun dinner dates,
or trips to lakehouses,
or do projects,
or dozens and dozens of school assignments,
it would probably be by itself.

the table never chose itself, but at least the food here is cheap

forget the dirt that collects in the grooves of your shoes
it only weighs you down when it's underneath your fingernails
and a bit of dust isn't worth fighting
when you are treading water against floods and hurricanes,
don't drown in the rain,
it's too much work to survive without
getting lost in the little things.

don't scratch at your sun burnt skin
while you're fighting moving forest fires
and I know it is easier said
than done, but pick your battles,
and pick them well,
and pick which ones you need to let go.
you should know i am a time traveler &
there is no season as achingly temporary as now
but i have promised to return

should a new year bring forth
a wave of tears every day,
the time that sears in one's mind
yet they hold dear just the same,
to fight the fear that builds.

you will go stand on the edge.
and you will not talk back to the
command that tells you to do so,
even if the very sea is bubbling
beneath you.

but don't forget that somewhere,
somewhere far away from here,
the sky ends -
______and everything that seems infinite
in this world
is only land receding into an ever growing ocean,
there is an end
one day.

take it all,
your regret, your hurt,
the burdens that have latched on to your shoulders,
let them be sand,
know they too are finite,

because somewhere,
somewhere far away from here,
heaven begins -
______and everything that is finite
in this world
is cast away like so many grains of sand catching the waves
that have swallowed up the shore,
and even death
loses its sting.

there is no season as achingly temporary as now
but i have promised to return

Screaming and throwing,
I end up breaking two lights.
It's called being mad.

perhaps being a small
cell in a universe filled
with quadrillions would
help someone cope
with the stresses of
their modern lives.

who am i to question
the feeling i get when
expressing my joy,
just because the past
haunts me every time
i say hello and tell
some-one-good-bye.

don't forget
someone named these
constellations
long before you
pointed out
the stars,

you're nothing
new here,
just stardust,
arranged in lines
i wish i'd never met.

there is no season as achingly temporary as now

i am holding his hand tightly
he is holding my hand back
and round my back his other hand
is pushing pushing - bruise rising
you can message me with anything: questions, review requests, rants
are you a green room knight yet?
have you read this week's Squills?
