I sighed, compared to her, I always looked weird; she was beautiful. She had waist length, dark, brown hair and gorgeous, hazel eyes; the only things I had were mousy, short, hair and eyes that could only be described as hospital grey.

Translators rock my socks most days (no pun intended in conjunction with display picture). Except when I really do want to translate something. Dictionarys can be the same way. For example, I looked up the Spanish word "alma" one day, which means things along the lines of "soul", "breathlessness", etc., but then the very last definition out of twenty like the previous ones was: turkey vulture

Translations make me laugh. alot.

I translated the YWS homepage into Italian and Japanese - 'twas good!

And in keeping with the Lion King thing write me started, I decided to translate Circle of Life.

Here's the original version:

From the day we arrive on the planet
And blinking, step into the sun
There's more to see than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done
There's far too much to take in here
More to find than can ever be found
But the sun rolling high
Through the sapphire sky
Keeps great and small on the endless round

It's the Circle of Life
And it moves us all
Through despair and hope
Through faith and love
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the Circle
The Circle of Life...

It's the Circle of Life
And it moves us all
Through despair and hope
Through faith and love
Till we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the Circle
The Circle of Life

And after translated into Italian, French, German, and back to English:

Of giorno we arrive on the planets, and by being the point in the only one blinking more to see there that they can to be never visas more ensure that it can be never made there is far to take too much here in addition to ritrovamento which can be never found, but to only, that rolls on with the preservation of the sky of the large and small zaffiro on the infinite circle, it is the life circle, and it shifts it completely with despair, and with faith and amore finch2. éspoir we find our place on the distance that we take place ourselves in the circle the life circle... It is the life circle, and it shifts it completely with despair, and with faith and amore finch2. éspoir we find our place on the distance that we take place ourselves in the circle the life circle

Very interesting...

I LOVE Babelfish and Lost in Translation! Where has this topic been all my life??

My current sig:
"Friends don't let friends abuse apostrophies."
--Shafter
"Our practice area has no espresso machine. This is unacceptable."
--Sage, during drama class

into Greek and back to English:

"The friends do not leave the abuse of friends apostrophies." -- Shafter our "region of practice does not have no machine espresso. This is unacceptable." -- Sage, at the duration of category of drama

...original routed through the Lost in Translation site:

"Friends apostrophies." to the friends does not go the abuse;
-- Shafter that the zone of practitioner who "Our does not
interest has a machine expressed of is unacceptable." -- Salbei,
during the category of the drama

Original through Lost in translation including Chinese, Japanese and Korean:

" The form of the friend no, abuse of the apostrophies for this
friend, who is " possible; -- " of Shafter; Nobody ç... of µ
of æ of ® "that the zone of the practical interior of the coffee which
we are cannot receive. " -- the imprudent work in savage selects
between a category,

Gotta love translators!

Unfortunately the site mentioned above by someone is now defunct. Sad day!

Anyway, using freetranslation.com and translating English-to-German-to-French-to-European Spanish-to-Russian-back-to-English, here's what I got:

Original phrase: "Where does writing hide?" (taken from the name of another thread on here)

New phrase: "? Or?? Probably the letter hides?"

I love it!
