This is an activity we did one time in Creative Writing. All you have to do, really, is finish the sentence: Snow is...
Go ahead and be creative. Let's stretch our minds a little and maybe even get into some metaphors, eh?

Snow is a plastic bag--suffocating and silent
Snow is a spider, webbing dew in early morning.
Snow is a ballerina, dancing through winter's prelude.

What do you think snow is?

--Anna
"Man needs music, literature, and painting--all those oases of perfection that make up art--to compensate for the rudeness and materialism of life." -Fernando Botero

Snow is Mother Nature's blanket, tenderly wrapped around the world.

I don't know. I haven't seen snow in quite a while.
There once was a cat.
He wasn’t particularly fat.
Fuzzy was his favorite mat.
And really, that was that.

Oh, but did you really think so?
Keep reading, it’s just the start of the show!
And as for how far this tale will go…
Well, even the cat doesn’t know.

Snow is crystals falling from the sky like a gift from God.
Mamillius: Merry or sad shall’t be?
Hermione: As merry as you will.
Mamillius: A sad tale’s best for winter. I have one

Snow is a joy for those who choose to be children and an annoyance for those who choose to be adults.

Not sure why I put this, but it seems to me that adults grumble and complain about having to shovel snow, while children enjoy it. I put the "choose" part, because some of us never choose to become adults.

That is very true! Haha. I'm one of those who will probably never choose to be an adult.

I'll never choose to be an adult. I'm way to childish

Snow is a lovely thing to play in.

Okay, so I couldn't think of anything.

Snow is the death of some but the birth of others (no idea what this means. Could associate with animals or even with people)
Purple light in the canyon
that is where I long to be
With my three good companions
just my rifle, pony and me

Snow is great in moderation.

I love snow but we have had a TON of it around here and now its all sandy and gross. =/
I like new fallen snow around christmas time, not dirty heavy snow in February.

Snow is frozen tears of angels descending down upon us all in a blanket of doom.

I absolutely detest snow :)
I second that JM. It's fine on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. After that MELT. It was so bad, last week we had temps. in like, the 50s! And then it got really cold and snowed again! :x
It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live.
