You know you are a writer when you have begun to look life objectively.

You know you're a writer when in the middle of the night you get up specially to write down a story plot since you're afraid you'll forget about it.
Perfect things in life aren't things.

You know you're a writer when...

...The Thesaurus is one of your best friends...

...You talk about your characters as if they were real around your friends and they think you are crazy...

...If someone stole your computer, you'd miss your novels/poetry/stories most...

You know you're a writer when...
1) You have conversations with your characters and your characters are your best friends (And no, I'm not crazy :shock: )
2)You get in trouble for writing when you're suppose to be asleep
3)You dream about your stories
4) When you get bored, you zone out and start thinking about what you could be writing
5) You always want to write

You know you're a writer when:
a) you dream about your characters at night;
b) you carry your dictionary, your favourite notebook and a pencil with you at all times;
c) you imagine what your characters would say when you encounter something;
d) you talk about them at dinner as if they were your friends at school (e.g: "Mommy, Guillermo killed himself yesterday." "WHAT?!");
e) you write whenever you can, even when you're in an exam; and last but not least,
f) you got detention because you were too busy writing in class. <--- How very unfair. Grrrrrrrrrrr.
you'll never find another sweet little girl with sequined sea foam eyes
ocean lapping voice, smile coy as the brightest quiet span of sky
and you're all alone again tonight; not again, not again, not again.
and don't it feel alright, and don't it feel so nice? lovely.

You know you're a writer when...
...you will write on every available scrap of paper/skin/surface when you come up with an amazing idea.
...your math teacher gives you extra math to copensate for the writing you do in her class. (true story, dern it ><)
...while you have a conversation or listen to others conversations you write the scene in your head.
...you actually jump for joy when your English teacher says it's essay time.

Just a few that I came up with. : )

You know you're a writer when...
--you pass up socializing with your friends/family/significant other for the sake of writing.
--you carry a notebook and pen wherever you go in case inspiration strikes out and hits you.
--you elaborate everything while talking, driving your friends completely insane in the process.
--you end up turning a five-page English essay into a twenty-page story. (It was over Dante's Inferno, I couldn't resist ><)
--you would grab the computer over your phone/clothes/money in a fire only because it housed your stories/poems/etc.
--you think writing should be a recognized sport. (Calluses/writer's cramp/sore arm from writing too much, anyone?)

Just a few examples I thought I'd share. :)
"Have I ever told you the story about how our kingdom was nearly torn apart by greed and betrayal? No? Well then gather 'round, my children, and let Ol' Nan tell you about the Legends of Arenthul." ~Naneria

You know you're a writer when:

You wake up at 3 AM in the morning just to fix a typo.
Said typo kept you awake until 3 AM.
You had nightmares involving said typo.

True story.

silverSUNLIGHTx wrote:haha, all that is so true.

You know you're a writer when life is one big storybook and you constantly narrate it in your head.

I did that for YEARS, and it got really old though so I finally trained myself to stop, but I still do it sometimes. :]

Oh so true, I do that! I'll say something out loud and in my head I'll say "She said with regret." LOL
Two most important words: I WILL!

Woohooo!! I'm a writer, I'm a writer! Sometimes, I think about writing my problems in a dramatic context, more than I ever think about their solutions :D
I'm back to my YWS after months of disappearance, hoping that I'd gain the immunity of books and quills against the harmful realism of our world.

In case this made no sense, I'm just saying that I'm happy I'm back!

You know you're a writer when...

you procrastinate on your school homework to get another chapter done.
you badger all your friends to read your story ideas.
your story ideas change daily.
your parents get angry at you for staying up past midnight.
your teachers yell at you for forgetting your homework because you were writing so late last night.
you have an annoying but obvious need to correct every single grammar/spelling mistake on your school handouts and textbooks. ;) Yep.

You know you're a writer when you are on a walk and you see something beautiful (flowers, etc.), you automatically think of how you could describe the object in a novel.
"Chase your dreams, and remember me, speak bravery,
Because after all, those wings will take you up so high."
-- Owl City, "To the Sky"
