Hello fellow writers!

I've recently been seeing many authors on Instagram post a poster quote from their books with pretty designs and calligraphy to entice viewers to read them.
Much in the same way I challenge you to pick out a line or lines from your piece whether it be a poem, short story, or novel that you would post to entice viewers. It would also be very cool to respond to each other's posts on what your impressions are of their quotes.
Here's my example:

Title: Heart of the Sea
**short story

"A heartless, monstrous beauty she became, luring men with her song to their deaths. She consumed their hearts to fill the void where hers should have been.
But the heart she truly sought after belonged to the one who caused her death."

Your turn!

What is society, and what is humanity? Where does one start to create the other? Is humanity anything more concrete than a construct? If you strip away society, what of humanity will remain?

I think society creates humans as much as humans create society.

@AlmostImmortal
Your submission is really intriguing. It challenged me to think critically about the world and explore an interesting concept I haven't really thought of before in the way you presented it. I'd love to know what story or poem that quote is part of because I am intrigued to read more!

Thank you so much for sharing!

Thank you so much, @PoetryMisfit! This line is from my poem, "The Cosmic Wonderings of a Teenager." I haven't posted the entire thing here, so I can PM it to you if you'd like!

As a former (and rather excellent) liar herself, Aru knew that, sometimes, speaking the truth felt like wrenching a thorn out of your side. But doing the opposite meant pretending it wasn't there. And that made every single step ache. It was no way to live.
