Fern Abilene; Part Two

Kurr was quiete the gentlemen, and Fern found herself enjoying his company. Only slight pleasantries were exchanged between them, but they felt better than most pleasantries Fern was forced to work with a smile.

They reached the shuttle to the Training Center almost too quickly. Fern knew they would have to split ways for a more serious subject- the death of their tributes.

Sure enough, Kurr soon said, "We should probably split up now, yes?''

Fern took a deep breath, one like Kurr had just given her from the games seriousness. ''Yeah. See you later?" She tried for a casual tone.

He grinned,'' Of course, Miss Fern.''

Then he left. Fern smiled to herself, then went in search of her tributes. Bronze was fairly easy to find, and judging by the way his eyes glittered, he'd just figured something out. Stella was a little tougher, but it wasn't hard to round them both into the Training Center. Both tributes sat down and Fern took a deep breath.

''Okay, Bronze and Stella. You're both District One, and you've both had a decent amout of training. As much as I hate to say this- I want you to show off.'' Fern bit her lip, looking at Stella's confused face and Bronze's 'I SO got this' look. ''Not a lot or anything-'' Fern went back on her words a little- ''just show them what you can do. I can't tell you how to play your game- the tributes are different, and both of you are very different then I was- and am. Play your own game- I think you'll play better than with any piece of advice I can give you.'' Fern frowned. why am I so bad at this? She thought. ''I guess you can go train now- do everything. Seriously reccomended. You don't want to be lost out there. Okay- er- I guess you can go now. If you need my help, just call. Or... well, I'll be right behind you.''

Mission complete, Fern leaned back in her overly plushy chair. Hopefully, I'll be better next year, Fern thought to herself.
I have loved the words and I have hated them. I only hope I have made them right.

Veronica... 12 mentor

Veronica sat at the dinner table, paying close attention to all movements everyone is making . She knew what Ryder was thinking, "I need allies". She wanted to tell him he does not need anyone to depend on, but not at dinner. She sat there listening to Sophia, the female from district 12, talk the whole time. She caught Ryder's eye. She rolled her eyes to the back of her head, which made Ryder and a few other tributes laugh. When they did, Sophia stoped talking. Veronica felt kinda bad, but not really. Most people talk about how great they were at eveything. But Ryder is smart, he did not say anything. He is keeping them guessing and listening to all they were saying. Which is the smartest thing to do. Veronica smiles, she knows she has a good tribute this year.

Fiske Reede/ District 9

After the chariots, Fiske was still requiring blinking so that he could take in the enormous dinner set out. The table was huge, there was soup, chicken, fruit, vegetables, bread, mashed potatoes...you name it. Starving, but still in line, close to last, he could already hear his stomach growling. District 1 took their seats, then 2 and so on. When he got to his seat, he helped himself to a large serving of mashed potatoes with gravy, chicken, buttered bread and soup...to start with. He looked around and saw people, allies perhaps, or enemies. It depended on how you viewed them; he needed allies, good ones, ones that had unique skills. Training was tomorrow, he was nervous, but ready...hopefully. It would be there that he would make allies, depending on their personality, and skills. But, no matter how skilled, or nice, or cunning, in the end, it all happened in the arena.

Des- District 10

"So how are we supposed to win this thing?" I muttered to my counterpart at their next meal. He shrugged. True, I understood that people from our district didn't say much, but a little dialogue would have been helpful.

"You win by any means necessary," interupted Ilija as he walked through the door. I chanced a shy glance up at his scarred face. Ilija just continued.

"During training I want you two to talk to people. None of this shy act," he shot a look at me. I immediately cowered a bit. "If you want to survive, you need to be a bit more outgoing than this."

"But won't that just draw attention to us?" I asked.

"A little attention from the sponsors and allies is good. Just don't go over the top and win enemies. I'm sure plenty of other tributes will be playing that card. 'Look intimidating.' Phooey."

I started to doubt my fathers words to me when I left about this all being a show. Something told me that Ilija knew something even worse than death by the games. Something so dark that everything was life and death... and maybe it was.

Part Three: Group Training Deadline for this one is March 4th or 5th

Reed Willimon, District 11 female tribute:

It wasn't difficult to play her part as a "weakling", letting her true emotions of fear and worry fill her. As she stepped off of the elevator and into the massive gymnasium complete with obstacle courses, weapons and different stations, Reed did a quick glance-over of various tributes. It looked like only a couple of Districts were there already, like 1, 3, 4, 8, and of course 11. Most of the kids were much larger than her, but Reed knew better than to doubt herself. She was stronger than she appeared, fast, and athletic.

An Avox pinned her District number to the back of her training outfit, before doing the same to Edur.

The two sauntered across to the other tributes in the center of the gym who were all in a close circle around the head trainer. Reed now felt confident once more, but appeared uncertain to continue acting in the role Kurr had instructed her to play.

Reed gazed around the huge gym, waiting for more tributes to arrive. Across the ceiling was a large ropes course, spanning out like a spider's web. She figured she could master that. Spread around the room were various survival and fighting skill stations, with a trainer positioned by them for assistance. Her blue eyes flitted up to the back wall. Carved into the wall was a long, tall alcove with the Gamemakers sitting in it, taking notes of every movement the kids below made. Reed guessed there was a staircase somewhere leading to the alcove. The only thing between the Gamemakers and the tributes was a thick glass barrier that Reed wanted so badly to break. She felt the urge to snatch up two swords and shatter the large window and let loose all the anger and fury that had been building inside of her. But of course she couldn't, and it'd be very stupid even if she tried.

The Makers were the ones designing the arena that was going to be her death bed, and that thought didn't sit well with Reed. Hatred flared up in her chest. She realized that she hated the Gamemakers. She hated her escort, she hated the Capitol, and she hated the president.

She curled her lip in disgust, ripping her eyes back to the head trainer as he began to speak.

Veronica wanted to find Ryder and Sophia before they went in to group training. She wanted to give them a quick word of advice. She was told by her mentor to keep them guessing. She did not want her tributes to be a threat to others, but also did not want them to be shown off as the weak. She had a great plan, but where were her tributes. She had looked everywhere. After looking for 20 minutes. She found them both coming down the hallway to the training room. " Thank goodness. Where were you two?" she asked.
"We were looking for you." they said at the same time.
"Well, I guess we both found what we were looking for." she said with a smile.
"Well what are you words of wisdom before we go in to the training room." Ryder said.
" I want you to play it safe. Do not do everything you are good at. You need to learn what you can not do, or need improvement on. Keep them guessing. When you go in explore a little. Check out what others are doing, but don't stare them down. They want you to see what they are good at. Don't show them what you are good at and what you are no so great at. Be the ones no one will remember. Then you can go full forse for the gamemakers. They are the ones you want to impress. I can not go in with you as you know. I will be in teh hallway of connecting to our rooms when you get out. Have fun and don't hurt yourselves."
" Thanks Veronica. I trust you." Sophia says.
" Thanks, I do to." says Ryder.
" No problem. Be careful and try to learn something."
" We will." they say as the walk to the training center.

Des- District 10.

We walked into the Training Center. It looked like most of the districts were there already. Breaking apart from my counterpart, I accidentally shuffled into a girl I recognized belonging to District 1. My eyes went wide and I stammered an apology. She looked me up and down before scowling and moving far away from me.

I backed away towards the back of the group. The head trainer was waiting for the rest of the districts to arrive before speaking.

"Did we miss anything?" a guy asked from behind. I jolted a bit, much better than jumping out of my skin, and looked back at him. His face seemed familiar... he was missing coal dust. The boy from District 12.

"Uh, n-no. I-I don't think so," I stuttered. He smiled half heartedly. I guess that was a thank you? His counterpart came up as well as another district just before the head trainer began speaking...

Spoiler! :
Hey star, do we get to choose how our character dies? Because if so, I want Reed to kill Edur! Hehehe. *claps hands excitedly"
Also, justagirl, can Malay and Edur be friends? And maybe allies? Maybe?

Group Training
Edur Stravojok
Distric 11 Male Tribute

Edur and Reed walked into the ginormous, gym-like training center and looked around.
A few other districts were all ready there, but Edur didn't note where they were from. He walked around, looking at the gamemakers, the head trainer, the other districts tributes and Reed. Reed was snarling, and Edur was a bit taken aback.

An avox girl came up and pinned a number on Reed, who stopped snarling for moment, then started looking around as the avox went over to Edur.

Edur was walking around, getting a feel for the place, and he was hoping to make some friends, to hopefully become allies, as Reed had disagreed with him at dinner and about becoming allies.

He walked over to a district 7 girl. She had amazing, huge blue eyes, and shoulder length blonde hair. She looked around Edur's age-15-and had very pale skin.
"I'm Edur, from Distict 11," he said hopefully, planning for a kind response.
She looked at him, and didn't speak.
"Not one to talk?" he continued. "Neither."
She smiled, it was very cute, but Edur didn't really notice.
"I know you're from 11," she finally spoke, very quietly.
Edur raised his eybrow, then looked down at the massive number eleven writeen on his training shirt and grinned.
"Yeah, you from seven then?"
The girl just dipped her head down at her shirt, and Edur nodded.
"So, what was your name again?"
The girl looked down dhyly, "I'm...Malaya."
Edur raised an eyebrow, "You have a very nice name...Malaya. Want to be allies?"
Malaya stumbled back, and looked quite shocked at the thought, Edur was a bit embarresed, and was catching the eye of a few tributes, a thing he always dispised.

Malaya regained her balance, then opened her mouth to speak, and Edur made a wish in his head.
There is no such thing as a stranger. Only friends we haven't met yet.

Ryder / Part Three

Ryder's cold was getting worse, it hadn't gone away at dinner. And now he and Sophia had to go into the training center. It was not going to be pleasant

They started off at the knife station, one of the trainers went over all the different kinds of sport and hunting knives. Ryder could name some of them, but the rest were just alien.

The camouflage station was easy enough, he knew the essentials. He got some pointers, but the smell of the mud made him wan't to vomit.

Some of the other stations he excelled at, like archery. And others he lacked experience in like spear throwing. That was going to be a challenge.

He figured he should socialize with some of the tributes, The female Tribute from 11, Reed, and Des. They seemed to be trustworthy. They would make good allies.

If He didn't get sicker...

Fiske Reede/Training Center

Wanting to stay out of the way, Fiske headed to the knot station. Since he was small, light, and agile, trapping people could come in handy. The person running the station taught him hangman's noose first, then moved on to others.
Once Fiske was certain that he had learned all the vital knots, he went to work creating a would-be trap if he had some trees. When he was finished, the station-runner gave him an approving nod, a couple tips, and a compliment. Fiske then continued to go to the camoflauge station, another vital station. He mixed all colors of greens for woodland, browns for waterbanks and white for snow. The arena was an ever-changing place. You never knew what to expect. He continued then to the plants station, learning which were poisonous, which weren't and so forth. He learned how to turn a simple stick with a poisonous leaf into a deadly weapon. However, he avoided the weapon throwing for later, that would come last. He milled around for hours, taking occational breaks for food or naps. So far, he had been avoiding other people, hoping slightly that if they wanted an alliance with him, they would come to him. Although why anyone would want him for an ally was beyond him.

Alen and Luce walked into a large room that had lots of interesting things like a plant station and weapon training. The main trainer wanted to talk to every one when they all finally arrived into the training room. "Hello tributes i'm the person who will be watching you for today so you all make it back it back to your rooms in one piece" He said to them loudly.
They all looked at each other surprised and wondering who in the group of people would try to harm or kill one of the tributes before the games."well what do you think of that Luce someone crazy would think of that now" Said Alen
"Well i don't know maybe someone with a death wish before they go into the games" said Luce.
"Lets go over to the the plant station see about what to est and not" saying Alen well thinking in the back of his mind this would help you I all ready know what about lots of plants.
Alen and luce walked over to the plant station and learned about plants that you could eat and ones you could let someone that you want to eat and die.
Alen was watching the other tributes and waiting for a perfect time to ask someone to be in their ally and Alen saw one it was the district 9 boy away from everyone. Alen walked over to the boy and asked him "would you like to be my ally in the game."
The district 9 boy looked like he was in shock and could not speak but then mumbled something.
