Climalsi | The Palace - Main Hall

He leaned against the wall, savoring his new identity as his twin. So far, the only thing that knew he wasn't Kosey was the mare Lady Night Rider. He looked around, then went through the hall to give himself a mental map of the palace itself. It took him all morning to make himself a route to take around the palace with very little difficulty. Much to his surprise, Kosey's room had a secret passage that led out to the stables. He thought to himself, I wonder if this is how Kosey gets to his mare quicker than his adoptive brother Crown Prince Hector. I'm surprised Kosey kept this secret passage to himself.
Seeing Climalsi arrive caused Lady Night Rider to dig a hoof in the hay, catching Climalsi's attention.
Climalsi went to Lady Night Rider's stall and asked gently, "Need some fresh air, milady?"
She neighed in response.
Climalsi put a saddle on her back and mounted her. After he was sure nobody was around to stop him, he rode her out of the stables and into the forest once again. The autumn air greeted them both as they wove around the trees, giving Climalsi the feeling of freedom and Lady Night Rider the pleasure of running.
Look down and show some mercy if you can.
Look down, look down, upon your fellow man.

((Note before: It is now Dawn, not night time, therefore it is now the next day. So, please take note of little things such as the change of lighting; sunlight or moonlight, etc. Basically. That is not, in fact, moonlight filtering in through the window.))

Nasira | Temple - Room:

Nasira crept closer to sleeping maidens, eyeing the sunlight creeping in through the small window place high up on the wall. This was dangerous. It was dawn and she had no doubts about some of the older maidens being up and about. After all, some of the Maidens started their day earlier than others. Thankfully, Isranda wasn't included in that group. She glanced towards Amar and then to the taller maiden. He swiftly moved to her side. She abruptly gagged the girl she would be dealing with and and paused. Nasira took the time to give the one she was handling a dark look. Though still asleep, they might me trouble. She swiftly bound the Maiden before she turned. Amar was struggling with the taller girl.

She cursed and swiftly joined him in trying to keep the girl down. Nasira leaned over, putting her face near the girl's. "If you want to live," she hissed, gaze narrowed. "You will stay still and cooperate with us." The girl glared at her, but she did stop struggling. Nasira nodded and withdrew. Amar nodded his thanks and went about binding the girl. A whimper from behind her had Nasira turning on the other Maiden. "Morning," she said and stalked over to the girl. "I'm sure you heard what I said to your little friend, no?" The girl stared up at her, fearfully. "Good." She turned back to Amar.

"Let's get out of here already," Amar hissed, pulling the taller girl to her feet. Nasira nodded and went to get the other girl onto her feet. Hopefully, they would get out of here without arousing too much attention. That was if the gods, and luck, were on their side.

Ulta | Isranda's chamber

He'd left. I was on my own, with fat tears rolling down my face. My sobs were silent but they raked through my body, bringing the burning pain back with too much force. I sank to floor.
"Why are you here? You shouldn't have come Ulta," The angry voice that had been plaging all day had softened, mellowed even, and was now conforting me in the guise of Isranda's voice, "Come now child, let us clean you up." Whiping those bitter tears away I stood and turned to her.
"Hand me in. I shouldn't have come, you're right about that, but I shouldn't have escaped in the first place..."
"Oh, you're still my girl," Isranda said folding me in her arms, much like she used to when I was young, "Ulta. I named you, you know. All the others wanted to give you a human name, but I resisted and name you after your liniage. The elves always did have pretty names. A pretty name for a pretty face," She said gently, looking into my eyes now. "Come let us clean you." Taking my hand she lead me into her private bathing room. The copper bath sat ready with water already in it, waiting for a fire to heat it's contents. She left me then, to undress, and to bath myself. For a long time now she had known that I enjoyed cold water as opposed to warm or hot.

It was magical how much bathing could help an injured body. Yes the bruises were still there but they didn't hurt quite as much now, maybe they were simply numb from the cold water but... I don't know. My hair was plastered to my scalp but clean never-the-less. I dried and re-clothed myself and went back into Isranda's main chambers. She was sat on her bed, graceful as ever, holding my dagger in her hands.
"I remember finding you with this -"
"Are the guards there?" I asked, interupting her.
"Yes, they are. You don't have to do this," She said griping my shoulders, " I could keep you here and protect you."
"No, let me go." I stepped out into the corridor after sheathing my dagger, into the arms of the guard to be taken to my death. Briefly I glanced Isranda, a hand pressed against her mouth, waving me good-bye.

Hector/His bedroom/roof:

I laid in bed as the first rays of the dawn crept in through the window, staring into nothingness as my mind raced from the doing of last night.

-my sister was alive.

There had been so many questions raging in my heart, so many things I had wanted to tell her but I never got the chance. Almost as soon as we had entered the palace Keira practically collapsed in my arms from fatigue. She had said something about traveling nonstop, and not sleeping well.
I had to carry her to her old room. Papa refused to let mother change it since Keira left so it was the same as the day she went missing. He always said she would come back someday and-

"Ill be damned if my little girl finds her room chanced one iota! She'll go and think we've replaced her or something!"
Mother used to say it acted as a constant reminder of painful times, but Papa's word was final on that score and Keira's room was left untouched. Keira had seemed genuinely surprised when I told her this, but too tired to really say much and I let her be- we would talk in the morning.

And morning it was now. I came back to the present and groaned.

-Merciful God in heaven! how I hated mornings now.

There was always some new catastrophe, something else to worry about, as if I didn't have enough? I rolled over onto my side and came face to face with a black, wet nose, and breath that would of had a dead man turning in his grave.

"Briac!" I hollered at my giant of a hound. "What the hell are you doing?" He didn't answer of course, but looked at me placidly, even though he knew he wasn't allowed on the bed.

"You know my friend." I began, rubbing behind his shaggy ears. "Your not the most desirable of bed-mates: you stink, you drool, and you breath down my neck." I sat up and swung my legs over the edge of the bed and stood up, still talking to him.

"It is a sad thing indeed, when the best the crown prince can do, is have a dog in his bed." I laughed at my own stupidity and began to dress. It was warm in my room so I left my shirt undone and went to the balcony doors to let in the cool Autumn breeze.

The sight of a sunrise over the city was one that always took my breath away- quickly and none too gracefully, I scrambled up the wall and out onto the roof. The sunrise was spectacular, the whole city was bathed in every shade of fire, with the round blue bowl of the sky rolling on in the heavens. I lay back on the tiles that were just beginning to warm from the suns rays and breathed deeply the cold Autumn air. As Kosey's season was Winter, mine was Autumn. Something about it invigorated me and gave me a sense of some I couldn't explain.

Climalsi | Outside the Palace- The Forest

Climalsi rode Lady Night Rider around in the forest for a small while, then returned to the palace stables. He found Lady Night Rider a very loyal mare, so he dismounted her and led her back to her stall. He gave her an apple and stroked her mane. He whispered to her, "I'll see you again soon, my friend. You make a very good comrade to your master." He shut the stall behind him and went through the main hall of the palace. It took him another small while to reach Kosey's room. There he found in Kosey's journal that today was a special day for Kosey. Today was exactly twelve years since Crown Prince Hector and his parents took Kosey in like he was one of them. In most of the entries that started on this day, Crown Prince Hector was found on the roof. Climalsi decided he needed to know more about Kosey. How he managed to live amoung the royals at the age of seven. Climalsi took to the roof and saw Crown Prince Hector right there, right where Kosey's journal said he would.
The Crown Prince noticed Climalsi and said, "Hello, little brother. I see you've come."
Climalsi said calmly, "I know." He sat down next to the Crown Prince and looked at the horizon. "You know, something's pestering me about now. Perhaps you can tell Little Brother a tale about this day. There's something about this day that makes my heart ache."

*(Shadowlight, go for it. We still need to get Hector to tell Climalsi his side of the story.)*

(sorry for the ungodly long post.)

Hector/Roof:

Kosey had found me as always. He had learned long ago that when looking for me the first place to look was up, I have a love of heights that baffles most, he knew to look on the roof. As soon as I lay my eyes on him I could tell something was bothering him, I may not be gifted in magic but I'm not blind, and his eyes speak volumes on their own.

Your heart aches you?” I put an arm around his thin shoulders and gave him one of my half hugs. “Well we'll need to remedy that. I'm in good spirits and I don't want your Autumnal melancholy to spoil it.” I said, some of my old playfulness returning for a moment. “What can I do?”

He shrugged looking off over the city still aflame with dawns show of lights.

“It's beautiful isn't it.” he said, almost awestruck, I nodded.

“Yes, yes it is, but that's not what you really wanted to say is it?” I watched him out of the corner of my eye, he chuckled,

“No it wasn't.” he paused scratching the back of his head, “ Could you tell me about the day you found me?” I looked at him, genuinely surprised.

“You were there Kosey, and you've heard my side a thousand times- why now?” he shrugged again.

- he was in a non communicative mood.

“I just want to hear it again, that's all- besides you like telling stories, humor me?” I leaned back on my elbows, it was my turn to chuckled- he had me. I closed my eyes and let my mind wander back to that nigh.

“Alright fine then. It was midwinter, in the middle of the night. I was only eleven or twelve at the time, I can never remember. I couldn't sleep, some childish nightmare had me scared stiff and wide awake. I was too proud to go to my parents and tell them- I was far too grown up for such things. So instead of fixing the problem and going back to sleep I lay in bed and tormented myself with visions of monsters coming to get me. I apparently had a evil host of monsters living in my closet when I was young...” Kosey laughed gently at this, a smile playing at the corners of his eyes.

-How innocent life was then...

“Anyway, it was a full moon out if I remember correctly and the night was almost as bright as noonday, so sleep was nigh on impossible for me. I was almost on the point of frustrated tears when May- you remember May right Kosey? Briac's dam, she was still living then- No matter, May started acting odd. If you remember my old room faced the gardens and she was pacing back and forth in front of the doors, looking longingly outside- I assumed she needed to go out ,so I pulled on my boots, wrapped a blanket around my shoulders and with a lighted candle (and my faithful hound) I started towards the gardens. As soon as we reached them May took off for Mama's rose garden at the back, I of course followed calling to her ,but she didn't pay me any heed. I found her near the fountain near the very back wall of the palace gardens.”

At this I turned around on the roof and pointed towards the extensive gardens, we could see all of them from here and I pointed at the fountain.

“It was right there, that I found her growling fiercely and pacing back and forth. She wouldn't take her eyes off one of the bushes. I tried to call here but she wouldn't listen, it was then I began to be afraid. I thought she was worrying one of Keira's cats again, but she wasn't acting like she had cornered a cat. “Whose there!?” I called, trying to sound like papa- I must have sounded terrified. I got no answer save for a miserable whimper.
I walked closer and around to one side of the bush and found you huddled against the wall shivering violently and all scratched up from the thorns. You must have been freezing, you were only wearing what seemed like pajamas and you were barefooted. Once I saw you were only a child like myself and looked no older than my sister my fear vanished and I knelt down near you and put a hand on your shoulder. You shied away and trembled still the more. “It's alright I won't hurt you” I said trying to sound reassuring. “My name's Hector, what's yours?” I barely heard your answer, but answer you did in that thin reedy voice of yours. Then you pointed at May. “She won't hurt me will she?” you asked, eyes as large as saucers. I called her off and for once she obeyed, you then slumped against the wall, warn out with something. It was then I saw your pointy ears and poked at them and said-”

“I had pointy ears as a child?” Kosey interrupted me, looking quizzical and reaching up to feel on of his ears. I laughed and shook my head.

“Only when you were little and they were barely pointed. Now don't interrupt! I said batting at him and missing completely.

“I asked you if you were an elf- I've always wanted to see and elf close up- you said no, I was a little disappointed but recovered when you shivered again. “Well Kosey, it's against the law to trespass in the royal gardens, but you don't look like a bad guy so I guess it's alright.” I said standing up and pulling you to your feet. “Where's your family? Why are you here?” you sniffled again threatening to cry but you managed to whispering say “I don't have a family.”- my heart went out to you then, and it was made up before I even thought about it. “Well then, if you don't have a family I guess your going to have to live with me.” I said firmly dragging you back to the palace. “It is the only thing left to do, I guess that makes us brothers now doesn't it?” I added as we went up the stairs past my parent's room.”

I stopped here, laughing at my own absurdity. Now it seemed completely ridiculous, what I did. But then it made perfect sense, A boy needed a family, and if he had none- he should get a new one. I looked over at Kosey then, he seemed strangely moved.

“So that's how it happened.” he whispered, eyes looking at something far away. I sat up smiling.

“Most of it. There is the part that when I went to my parents room to tell papa about you he didn't believe me- he thought I was talking about a dream and told me not to come in again. Then the part when the maid came in next morning to light the fire and found you tucked into my bed- I had slept in the armchair as it is only polite to give your guest the best place to sleep- she screamed like a banshee and fainted dead away swearing that you were some fairy child and that I had vanished in the night. She obviously hadn't noticed me in the chair. And of course there is the part when me and Keira threatened to starve ourselves, when Mama and Papa were thinking of sending you away. It was her idea, the starving. I had wanted to boycott my schoolwork, but she said we needed something more dramatic- she always was one for the dramatics. Other than that there isn't much left to tell, you know the rest.” I smiled and grinned.
“I've never had a dull day since meeting you though.”

He was just about to reply when I heard Lord Caverick calling for me in the gardens.

“My lord Hector! My Prince, where are you!?” I groaned,

-Damn it all to hell!

“Duty calls.” I said to Kosey and standing, left him there on the roof, still looking out over the gardens.

I on the other hand had business to attend too. Though the council wouldn't give me the crown, or title as king- they expected me to take on all the responsibilities of the monarch.

-The bastards.
.....

(Bethany- I was thinking Lord Caverick was coming to get hector to tell him about Ulta- if you have other plans that's fine too, I have plenty for my prince to attend too if need be. :) as always if I have done something out of line with the SB PM me and I will gladly edit.)

Ulta | The castle

What is it with guards and hitting me? I was sure I had yet another bust lip, as I could feel blood trickling down my chin and dripping to the ground. It took a while to reach Castle Asyra from the Temple, and I was dragged most of the way, my feet trailing in the dirt. Looking at one of the guards holding much too tightly onto one of my arms, I recognised him as one of the ones from yesterday. The streets were empty, even for this time... Maybe because there was a small battalion of guards escorting a broken elf through their streets. I let my head droop a bit mimicing the action of sleep, after a while I felt their hands loosen their grip on my arms and the blood rushed back into them giving a share sensation of pain that was only pins and needles but worse, so much worse.

I saw the ground beneath my feet change, from dusty un-kept streets to a beautiful paved courtyard. I jerked my head up, causing the guards to imediately tighten their hold again.
"Would you just give a rest," I snapped "It's not like I'm going to run anywhere." The only response I got was a slap around the face. While shaking the stars from my vision I was taken into the main chamber, the thrown room and made to wait. The guards had at least let me go. Then the prince walked in...
"H-Highness..." I stuttered. By the gods... He was beautiful in both his strong and innocent appearance, his clothes simple but regal at the same time. And here I was, a broken elf in rags.

Aly | With the Assassins

Aly chanced a glance over to Aisha-- only to see she looked just about as horrified as she felt. Not reassuring in the least. The kidnapper behind her gave her a sharp shove to encourage her to go faster. The halls were quiet, which was to be expected for this hour. The other maidens would be preparing for breakfast or just waking up by then. Aly said a quiet prayer to herself. She hoped someone would spot them before they got away.

Aisha spared Aly a glance before glaring back at the man who held her. It gave Aly a small amount of hope to see that she could still be brave during a time like this. That hope was wiped away when the kidnapper behind her gave her another hard shove that nearly sent her sprawling to the floor. Her knees began to feel weak and her entire body shook with fear.

Aly had no idea where she was being taken. Never before had she been this terrified.

sorry if this is really rough- I was in a hurry.

Haleighlia/ her rooms:

I had been escorted to my rooms late in the evening by General Aban- poor man had to wait for hours while I saw to the queen. I had in actuality just watched her sleep and gone over the notes her physician had left on the table. Watching a sick person sleep is actually a very good way to see how the fever is progressing and in the queen's case it wasn't good.

I had returned to my rooms and had gone through all my belongings like a possessed woman trying to find my large medical notebook, of course I had put it on the very bottom of my trunk! I curled up in one of the large armchairs in the small study, my feet snuggled into Souji's think mane of fur- I had sent to the stables for the good beast, i always felt more at home with him nearer me.

I don't know how long I had read my book but sometime during the night I must have moved from the chair to the bed, still with the book. For when I woke up in the morning I was tucked snugly in bed with the book on my chest.

It was early morning with the suns pale fingers turning the white canopy and curtains of my bed a wonderful gold color. Souji, the lazy bum, was sprawled across the foot of the bed, the tip of his tail twitching and swishing gently.

"Good morning old boy." I said scratching his muzzle, he let out a low deep moan and rolled over tongue lolling out. I laughed and stretched, back cracking loudly.

"Ouch." I said giggling, throwing back the blankets and hopping out of the bed. Things at home were so often low to the ground and not nearly so dizzying high as here.

In less than five minutes I was dressed and combing my long black hair. I had opted for a warmer deep green robe with red under robes and a red sash- quite a nice look of you asked me, I was very fond of it. I braided my hair and knotted it up out of my way with two long simple hair sticks.

I was just finishing this when a gentle rap sounded at the door, Souji started up with a growl and flattened his ears. I went to the door and upon opening it found a maid and towering behind her the stern face of Aban. I smiled at them both.

"Oh, good morning, please don't mind Souji- he's being a beast right now." the poor girl, as soon as she laid eyes on him turned pale as a sheet. She quickly set the tray she was carrying down on the nearest table, bobbed a curtsy and left-Leaving me and Aban alone.

-Merciful heaven!

I smiled at him, he nodded stiffly.

"Good morning General." I said as I sat down at the breakfast tray heaped with food.

-How in gods name was I supposed to eat all that!?

"Good morning Lady Ha-ly..... Ha- leo....." He turned a deep crimson- I couldn't help but laugh.

"Haleighlia- Ha-LAY-leah. It is a dreadfully long name, I have no idea what possessed my parents when they named me." I looked at him standing stiffly by the door- he was making me feel fidgety, Souji too by the looks of my wolf-dragon. He was glaring daggers at Aban and sniffing at him suspiciously.

"Will you join me General?" I asked motioning to the chair opposite mine at the small table. Aban stuttered and stammered before finally getting out,

"I don't think- my duties don't allow- it wouldn't be acceptable." I raised an eyebrow at him.

"General, aren't you supposed to be protecting me?" he looked at me hard for a moment before hesitatingly answering.

"Yes, that is my duty."

-I had him now!

"Well then sir, you must protect me now, from a stomach ache. I cannot eat all of this, I was never a breakfast eater- this tea and a couple of those boiled eggs will suffice for me, please help yourself to the rest." his stomach growled quite audibly, so loudly in fact Souji put his head to one side in confusion. I stifled another giggle. "Besides General, you haven't eaten yet."

He blushed again but I also thought I saw the ghost of a smile in his dark brown eyes,

- his lovely brown eyes....

"Thank you my lady." He mumbled and sat stiffly in the chair, a heavy silence descended and I grasped at something to talk about.

"Will you be able to take me into the city today? I need to replenish my stock of herbs. I also want to look for some Keplie eggs." I said the last part more to myself than anything...

.....

Keira - Secret Passages

Keira woke up feeling, for the first time in very long, completely and fully rested. She was home, resting in her king size bed under layers of silk and comfort. She was surprised though, to feel so pleased with being back in her old room for she had much more than just happy memories here.

Her eyes wanderer over the ceiling and down the biege-coloured walls decorated with paintings of fancy and well-known artists. Keira's favorite painting, the one where everything was dead, grey and dark except for one, red, beautiful rose, had lost some of it's glory and hung crooked on the wall next to the gold-framed mirror and it, like most of her things was layered with dust.

It looked as if nobody had been in there for ages and Keira had been more than surprised to find that everything remained the same. She had been too tired to look over her stuff completely yesterday though and when Hector lead her to her bed she hadn’t been able to keep her eyes open for very long.

Now she was up and awake though and after she had gotten out of bed she walked over to the two, wooden doors cut into the wall opposite the entrance and opened it. Keira gasped when she laid eyes on the many pretty dresses, fashionable heels and extraordinary hats of all sorts that was hers. Of all the things she had missed with being a rich royalty the dresses was the main thing. Keira had always loved dressing in fancy cloths but after hers and Aodán’s escape her choices had become limited.

Keira was filled with awe and happiness as she tried on one thing after the other and after spending half an eternity trying on and pulling off different dresses she finally decided to stick with a simple, easily worn scarlet-red dress with longs sleeves that glued to her upper body while it hang loosely below the waist. She put on a pair of simple, black ballerinas since she planned on moving without making a noise and to walk silent in high heels had never been one of her best gifts. Finally she pulled out a black, hooded cloak from the back of her closet and covered herself in it and then, instead of backing out of the big closet she started to find her way towards its end.

Keira smiled to herself when she reached the back wall and found the crack in it. With catlike acrobatic agility Keira slipped through the crack and climbed down the hollow place within the wall until she hit ground zero. Another smiled decorated her lips as she looked at the dim tunnel in front of her.

Keira had been no more than 4 years old when she by a mere accident found one of the secret passages within, and outside the Palace. Though she had always been scared to travel through them and she had the feeling she wasn’t the only one who knew of them.
Now though, Keira had been through enough not to fear them and she wanted to investigate her childhood home without risking pulling too much attention to herself. So with easy steps she wandered through the dusty tunnels and passages in her fancy cloths and with nothing but curiosity feeling up her mind.
Her first stop at her very long list was to revisit the fountain; it had been one of her favorite places to play at when she was a kid and the place where she spent hours just thinking and fantasizing when she got older.
To get to the fountain though, she had to climb even further down on ladders that hadn’t been restored and secured in ages and ages again and Keira tripped several times and by the time she reached the end of the last passage her dress had already been ripped, torn and ruined with dust and mud.

When Keira finally started to remove the stone block that kept her from escaping the tunnels her smile had faded immensely and when she finally succeeded and peeked out at the garden she found it being stocked with at least two dozen people from all parts of the castle and her smile turned into an annoyed frown when she realized she’d have to climb back up to her room if she didn’t feel like making her grand entrance with tangled hair and a dress that seemed to belong to a gipsy.

Why on earth was there so many people surrounding the fountain in the early morning?
"Some say the world will end in fire;
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice." - Robert Frost

Aban felt his brow crinkle. "Kelpie eggs?" The question was out before he could stop it, or even answer her own question before asking his own. Which only left one option. He did the unthinkable and carried on before the poor lady had a chance to speak. "But, I... I sup-pose that it would... that my job would-" he cleared his throat "-require it to be my, er... obligation to accompany you." Blast his constant stuttering. All it did was make him look like a fool.

Something changed in Haleighlia's eyes. Something that made Aban nervous. "Well, I dare say that one of your men would suffice!"

Aban cringed. He had offended her, hadn't he? Gods and temple maidens, he had just offended her. That.... that had not been his intention. No at all. His cheeks flushed once again, the blush claiming blotches down his neck rather than stick to his cheeks.

Gods, I have been neglecting you, but please give me wisdom. He shook his head and barely managed to sputter his first word, which was followed by others. "N-n-no, Lady Haleighlia, I never... I never meant any offense. I-I would be... I'd be happy to accompany you to the markets." There, that wasn't so bad.

Another unreadable emotion flickered in Haleighlia's eyes. Understanding perhaps? Aban wasn't daring enough to try to decode it. He exhaled slowly and subtly, straightening his spine as much as he could, more to make himself look less humiliated than any other reason. This was not his forte.

"Yes, well, I won't hold you back from your other duties, General. If you don't have the time, I'd be content to go with one of your men." The statement was followed by a slight smile that made Aban uneasy and gave him some reassurance all at once. She really did have a pretty smile...

He blinked at himself and shook off the thought. It wasn't his place to be mentally complimenting those assigned to him. "Yes, well I- I don't believe that I have.... anything to attend to until l-later this evening." He would have tried to smile with his lips, but he was willing to settle for a subtle softening in his eyes. That happened on its own- he would have to make his lips curve, and that would probably end up looking like more of a snarl. Haleighlia was the last person he wanted to snarl at. "Besides, I could probably-" he cleared his throat yet again "-use some fresh air and a trip out of the palace." Had he just made it through a sentence- an entire sentence- without a stutter? He hasn't been able to accomplish anything of the sort since his little speech on Hector's behalf.

She was smiling again, and this time it made Aban's stomach knot in a way that managed to scare him. Was he getting sick? Now of all times?

"Yes, you probably could." There was a hint of amusement in her tone, and it wasn't until then that Aban realized how long he had been holding her gaze. He looked down at the platter of food, nodding and hoping that his cheeks weren't as red as they were hot. When had he even looked up at her? Well, whenever that had been, he chose then to remember the plate of food in front of him. He did t even look before picking something up and stuffing it in his mouth in as polite a way as possible. It tasted vaguely like pork of some sort, but then he couldn't be sure.

"There's a tea house that I wanted to pay a visit to," Haleighlia continued after Aban's silence. "Would there be time to pay a visit?"

A tea house? Aban swallowed hard, wincing at how hard it was to get such a large portion of food down his throat. Gods, his table manners were awful. "There.... should be time, y-yes." And he was back to stumbling. His shoulders slumped just a bit.

Haleighlia didn't seem to notice, which he didn't mind even a little bit.

"When..." He trailed off for a moment, shifting and clearing his throat just an octave louder than he had the previous times. The Lady's bizarre creature lifted its head and let out a low growl. Aban just watched it warily.

"Souji! Would you please mind your manners for once?" She looked about ready to apologize, which Aban wouldn't allow for.

Another eye-smile, and he even managed a single true chuckle. "He's a guard. I dare say he's just doing his job." Even his tone sounded... different all of a sudden. Softer, perhaps. Pride made its way into Aban's mindset.

And then it was gone.

"As... as I was saying-- when... when do you wish to dep-depart? I'll need a couple of minutes to speak to my men ab-about positions in the markets. To ensure that you're safe."

He risked looking at her again, and something like snow trickled down his spinal cord. The most delightful snow he had ever remembered feeling.

Spoiler! :
And so it begins. Have fun, Shady. ;)
Guuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurl.

got trans?

Climalsi | The Roof of the Palace

It nearly broke Climalsi's heart hearing Crown Prince Hector's side of how he first met Kosey. From Kosey's journal, it was clear as water that he was orphaned at seven years old. Listening to Crown Prince Hector's side, Climalsi's heart ached in his throat. Kosey was young, still innocent in his life and flourishing a childhood. At least he had a childhood, Climalsi thought sadly. Kosey had a childhood and now lives among the royals because the Crown Prince took him in while he was still a child. But myself, I was raised a soldier since I could walk. I have no childhood. I matured too soon. How can one twin have a childhood when the other became a man too soon? Climalsi hugged his knees, tears falling down his face. He couldn't understand it. Both twins were supposed to have the same childhood together.
He took to Kosey's room and sat before the desk, reading Kosey's journal more. Kosey was happy being in a family again, living his childhood over again. To Climalsi, it wasn't fair for himself to have no childhood and still have a twin alive. What surprised Climalsi was that Kosey often written poems for Keira, but never spoken them or even gave them to her. Love. Who could explain it? Only the gods know why Kosey wrote these poems for the princess. It's through Crown Prince Hector that Princess Keira is Kosey's new sister. What else can Kosey do to show the princess his affection? Find her a rose outside the palace walls, perhaps? I don't know anything about love, so I don't know what to do in Kosey's place. At this, Climalsi looked back five years ago when he snuck into the secret archives and found something strange. According to the archive he found, a half-elf was found in the palace, presumably from the same family that died seven years back. What made the archive writer confused was that the half-elf had control of two elements. A normal elf has control over just one element, so the half-elf was unique.
He looked at himself in the mirror and studied his ears for the first time in his life. His ears were pointing northeast of his head, giving him the appearance of a full blood elf. He flicked his ears a little, feeling slight pain. He smiled at this. He may be human at some degree, but he was also an elf by appearance. He sensed winter was still coming to lay her white cloak all over the land. Soon his power over ice would be strong by the tenfold. Until winter arrives, Climalsi would have to live here among the royals and learn what Kosey learned from twelve years of starting his life over.
Look down and show some mercy if you can.
Look down, look down, upon your fellow man.

Keira

Keira was angry, more than so, she was dirty and had gotten scratches all over her body and some were bleeding lightly causing her not only to be a princess dressed in gypsy-looking cloth with messy, tangled hair but also smeared with blood. Whatever was going on out in the garden it had caused Keira’s mood to drop so what she wanted was to get as far away from there as possible.

She had crawled her way back out of the lower tunnels but then she had gotten lost and now she’d reached a dead end, or rather a crack in the wall that lead to a place in the Palace she couldn’t remember ever reaching – not from the tunnels anyways so she wasn’t sure where she would end up. But Keira was tired of sneaking around in the passages and wanted to get out somewhere where the sun shone and she could stand up straight so she decided to get off here, wherever that might be.

The crack in the wall was similar to the one that led from her room but it seemed to have been used more frequently than hers and was wider and easier to get through. After slipping through it Keira stumbled in to the room and fell exhausted down on the floor only to discover she’d snuck into Kosey’s room and that he was present and now staring down at her with full surprise.

Keira gulped and got up on both of her feet and dusted of the worst of the dirt from her torn dress, she didn’t bother trying to untangle her hair and her attempt to look proud and royal-ish must’ve failed completely because Kosey just looked shocked and not the least impressed. Keira looked down on the floor, ashamed to look like this the first time she reunited with her adoptive brother. When meeting Hector the first time she had at least looked respectable and fairly beautiful. Keira didn’t dare think of what she might look like in his eyes right now.

“Ehm… Hi!” Keira murmured eventually, her voice hoarse from breathing in all that dust. Keira waited patiently for an answer, uncertain if Kosey would even recognize her.
"Some say the world will end in fire;
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice." - Robert Frost

Climalsi | Kosey's Room

At first Climalsi wasn't sure about how Princess Keira managed to get in Kosey's room, but then it occured to him that there was a passage leading to the stable. Judging by the gypsy-like appearance on her, Climalsi guessed she was in more than one passage. How many passages are in this place? If I know one passage, then Kosey and the royals know more than I do. I could get used to this. He sensed something about the princess. It was the same chill that Kosey had when he and Climalsi first looked at each other in the eye. Looks like I found myself an apprentice. Princess Keira has power over ice, but might be unaware of it. I can fix that, if she lets me. Climalsi smiled and said, "Hello yourself." He took her hand and sensed the ice through her skin. "You have the element of ice within. Perhaps I could offer you some training. After all, I know how to use and control ice. You and Hector should know that." He knew the power of ice when he senses it.
Look down and show some mercy if you can.
Look down, look down, upon your fellow man.
