Hello, and welcome to my storybook. I hope you enjoy it!

The Setting

The fairies live in the woods. Next to the woods is a neighborhood, however, not many people explore the woods, and not many fairies explore the neighborhood so both kinds are usually left in peace. Though occasionally the fairies become mischievous and like to play pranks on the humans.

Here are some rules.

1. Make sure your in-line with someone else's character's personality. Don't go contradicting what they just said. If they say their character hates animals, don't go and make their character cuddle a rabbit.

2. Always click the Spelling button and check your spelling before posting.

3. There is a different thread for you to post your character's profile and any questions you have.

4. You must choose one of the types of fairies I list below, but if you really want to be something else, PM me about it, and I'll tell you if it's okay.

5. The point of this storybook is about fairies. You may not let your fairy be friends with a human. You may let your fairy be seen and try to be caught by a human, though.

6. The fairies are about as big as your finger (not thumb) and look like humans except for their pair of wings.

7. You may not make a naturally nude fairy. Please, make it wear clothes.

8. You can make a GIRL or BOY fairy, there aren't just girl fairies you know.

9. You must be committed to posting regularly. If you aren't able to post for a week, tell us and maybe have someone who knows your character well, to post for you. If you do not post for one month, we will have you fairy be gone.

10. As the creator of this storybook, I have the right to change or create new rules as I go along.

Types of Fairies

Fire Fairies
--Usually have red wings, and are attracted to fire. They can make almost dead coals become bright with fire. They also love to dance in the fire and they can do so without being burned.

Water Fairies
--Look a little like mermaids, with fish tails, and have lovely singing voices. They can fly, but they cannot set foot on land. They can be known to be cruel (though some aren't), and very vain. They love to look at their reflection in the water. They usually have long, flowing hair that resembles seaweed.

Tree Fairies
--Live in tree's and usually wear brown or green. They control the life flow of tree's. If they wanted, they could create a young sapling within a minute. They could also kill tree's, but they do not.

Air Fairies
--They usually stay high above, but sometimes they come down. They can create light winds and breezes.

Arabian Fairies
--Are also called Jinn. The Jinn are Arabian fairies that can shape shift. It is believed that the dangerous ones must change into a form that depicts their nature, and so dangerous animals have been accused of Jinns in disguise. (Make sure you do not make your Jinn fairy too powerful, that wouldn't be fun.)

Garden Fairies
--You will find these fairies among the flowers, dancing and playing, wearing flowing gowns with transparent wings. At dawn they pour out blessings upon the world by making flowers bud and bloom.

Here is your characters form. Fill it out with your characters details.

Fluttering onto a nearby tree, Rhyannon watched the Festival of the Fire. To celebrate, a tiny spark was lit and every of fire fairy in the forest used their power, turning it into a large, hungry fire, it's golden arms reaching to the sky. Looking down her fairy children, the moon smiled upon them.

The flames reflection shone tempting in her piercing green eyes, and finally, when she could resist it no longer, she flew in among them, dancing in and out of the licking flames.

Her long red hair hung at her waist streaming behind her as she moved her body to the fast, sultry rhythm of the drums. The gold tiara and arm bracelet she wore gleamed and sparkled, and her red wings flicked and fluttered to the drums beat. Closing her eyes, she fully gave herself up to the music.

The beat became intense, almost angry, and she found that it exhilarated her. She danced among the fire fairies, her blood pounding through her veins. Suddenly the drums stopped, and a wind rose up, extinguishing the fire. There was a deathly silence, no one moved.

Rhyannon clenched her fists, relax, she said to herself, control your temper. But she couldn't take it. Those wind fairies should get their wings snapped off. Anger boiling up inside, she stepped forward and with a strong raise of her arm, an almost dead coal shot flames upwards.

The other fire fairies, flexing their wings hesitantly, did likewise, until the fire was roared just as angrily as before. The drums started again, this time with a fast beat full of hate. Those wind fairies could try, but they couldn't win. No one could beat the fire fairies, she thought proudly.

Ah... The Festival of Fire... Interesting, interesting... Anaisathy, fairy of night, watched the even through her crytal orb with visible scorn.

Anaisathy was in a large, shadowy chamber with only one window. Barely a ray of sunlight could sink through the heavy dark curtains. In fact, everything in the room was dark: black draperies hung on the black walls, black, scarce furniture... It was a gloomy room, though not as gloomy as the fairy in it.

The tips of her mouth raised themselves a bit as she saw the fire die out. She watched, motionless, as Rhyannon set up the flames once more.

Those petty fairies... Them with their quarrels, their stupid arguments and differs... They'll be sorry, oh yes, they'll be sorry, the lot of them... A cast out, was she? Not fit to live among them, was she?

Anaisathy carefully inspected her nails, which where painted a tar black colour. Maybe they where right? Yes, she supposed that they where...

-But who cares, really? She'll pay them back, oh yes, she will... She'll spread such havoc that they'll come to her on their knees... And then what will she do? She'll laugh at them, jeer just as they did so long ago...

The next day, Matthis crawled out of his small bed, and fluttered his wings. He marched around his home, an abodaned humming bird's nest.
"There you are!" The fairy said leaping with joy, he hung momentarily in the air, his wings fluttering. He picked up his napsack, put it on, and went out in search for berries. The little fairy flew to and fro, between the trees, under and above branches. His green shirt, sticking tightly to his skin, his dark hair flowed in the wind, flying, oh how he loved it so. He hovered closer to the ground, and twittered between the blackberry bushes, searching for the ripest, and darkest berry he could find. A crashing sound echoed through the forest. Terribely loud deep voices filled the air, humans. He quickly changed form, just as the humans came into the clearing.
"Sarah look a hummmingbird!" One of the humans yelled. She was what they called a little girl. Matthias was fascinated by the humasn way of life. Somedays he would fly around their "yards" and just watch them. Everytime he went into their yards though, he risked a terrible death. Thye always were shooting at him with those things they called "cameras." Matthias buzzed away, escaping the two "little girls" who came trampling after him.
He made it back to his nest, breathing heavily. He changed back to a fairy, and looked about. THrough his little window he could see the fairy villages and hamlets. He wondered what the fire fairies were doing today? He looked upon a leaf he kept attached to his wall. Matthias had studied humans enough to know what "calenders" were used for. Humans, had no memories so they wrote it down on a paper covered with the days of the year.

-Today was the day after the fire festival so, things must be pretty chaotic down there. Matthias though as he leaped from his home, flying down towards the others.

Anaisathy watched. She was a patient observer, used to years of stillness and doing nothing but thinking up threats.

An interesting pair, that Rhyannon and Matthias... Interesting indeed...

A smirk crept onto her face as the thought of the rest of the fairies came to her. Soon... Soon they will find out how it is to feel her wrath...

She waved her hand over the orb and a different image appeared. It showed a stunningly beautiful fairy whoon closer examination showed numerous worry lines and brows furrowe anxiosuly. Her papery white skin contrasted with the vivd robed in which she was clothed in.

The Fairy Queen, Ileana, lay sick in bed.

Numerous attendants fluttered at her side, being instructed to call for help should the Queen feel worse than she was already feeling. -Not that the endless healers who visited her daily could do anything - they themselves had admitted that they did not know what ailed their Queen.

Time... Time was passing and the Queen was feeling worse and worse...

Anaisathy watched, fascinated. Yes, the only thing she ever did was watch. -No arguments could prove that statement a lie.

She smiled her eerie smile as one of the attendants gave out a bloodcurling scream - Ileane was dead.

Matthias landed in a jog on the paths in the little fairy hamlet. Under leaves, in bushes, undergorund, fairies and fairies homes were everywhere. He walked the busy path, fairies, off all kinds walking around. The wind fairies stayed in the air, only landing in the wind fairy neighborhoods in the west. The fire fairies ruled the north side of town, with a torch burning in front of everydoor or store, illuminating the area nicley. To the south side of the fairy hamlet is the great lake Of Mariah, the greastest water fairy that ever lived. Under the lily pads, in between reeds, almost everywhere you could see water fairies, each and evryone of them staring upon their reflections in the water. In the east, lived the tree fairies, where the samplings and elderly trees grew in harmony. Around the town center, the garden fairies had planted their garden. Each tulip and rose bloomed brightly for the queen to see. The garden fairies flowed to and fro between the petals, laughing and speaking gossip about the others fairies. Each tribe thought poorly of the others, and usually avoided each other. The queen's tree castle was the only place they were in unity. The queen, was the only fairy who could use all the elements of fairy magic. If it wasn't for her, the fairies would never live in harmony. Matthias bought a large ball of bees honey from one of the harden fairies, who he thanked greatlfully. None of the fairies really minded him visiting. He had friends from all the tribes. As he sat down in one of the white roses, to eat his honey, he heard an ear curdling scream from the tower. He put the honey in his napsack, and rushed up to the trees canopy. He stopped by the window of the infrimarary, where some of the healers were crying. "What is it?" Matthias asked one of the nurses, who had tear streaks down her cheeks.
"It's the queen." she said, sniffling. "She died." Matthias' jaw almost dropped, the joy inside of him entirely drained. He glided soflty down into the garden where he moped in between the roses. He walked along, his hands shoved down into his pockets, sadly. Not even flying or a giant ball of honey could of cheered him up. He lofted out of the garden, and flew back to his nest. He needed some time alone, the queen had always been a nice lady, she even used to play with him when he was a child. She had been like a mother to him, and the rest of fairyland, and now, she was gone.

Mournful, high-pitched wailing woke Rhyannon up from her slumber. Stretching her wings sleepily, she crawled out of her niche in the oak tree.

Blinking in the light of the dazzling sun, she looked around, bewildered. All the fire fairies in the North side, were wailing loudly, most of them with tears streaming down their cheeks.

Why on earth were they lamenting so ardently? It was the day after The Fire Festival, what could possible induce them to act so? She tapped the fire fairy nearest to her gently on the shoulder. It was a young fairy.

"Could you tell me what has happened?" Rhyannon asked quietly.

"T-The Queen h-has died," these words brought on another torrent of tears, and the fairy returned to her wailing, leaving Rhyannon dumbstruck.

The Queen is dead? She thought. No. Impossible! This revelation brought Rhyannon to her knee's, and she tore off her decorative jewelry, letting her voice join the others in cries for the dead Queen Fairy.

Anaisathy curled her lips into a smile, one that showed genuine happiness. With the Queen out of the way, everything will be easier, much easier.

She touched the orb with her fingernail, so that it showed her every fairy race separately. She saw their wails, their stunned expression.

Anaisathy smiled again.

Matthias leaned against the edge of his nest, eating his honey he had purchased earlier. A small fairy flew up to his nest, and handed him a scroll. In the queen's will, she has left you as family. You and all of the leaders from each tribe should arrive at the wake. We look forward to seeing you there.
"Why me?" Asked Matthias, his voice weighed down by sadness.
"Because the queen said you were like family to her. You have to be there." Matthias nodded acceptingly.
"When is the wake?"
"Tomorrow."

Rhyannon stared at the dying ember, mesmerized by the golden-red hue. She flicked on of her wings and a tiny flame leaped upward. She laughed, letting the ember die down again. This was how she amused herself when there was nothing else to do.

Of course she was sad, the Queen had died! But she had been thinking also, and realized that the time for mourning must be put aside. There was the issue of the Queen Fairy. Who would rule next?

It should definitely be a fire fairy, she thought confidently, who else was more capable?

Suddenly an air fairy flew in behind her, breathless from a long flight, and no doubt troubled as to its safety, as the fire fairies gave it hateful glares.

"What do you want?" She snapped. No ones temper about the Fire Festival had cooled yet. The air fairy flexed its wings meekly.

"Y-You are Rhyannon of The Fire Fairies?" It asked in a trembling voice.

"Yes, yes, now what is your business in these parts?"

"I come bearing a message asking for you to be present at the wake, tomorrow morning, the leaders from different tribes will be there. May I mark you attending?" And the air fairy handed Rhyannon a scroll. She perused the details explained inside.

Air fairies were often used as messengers because of how quickly they could deliver the letters by flight, she realized.

"Yes. I will be there. I also hope everyone will understand why a Fire Fairy should rule."

The fairy averted its gaze, and muttered, "Ah, yes," with a not-so-convinced voice, before with a relieved look on its face, sped away in the air, it's wings beating as though its life depended upon it. Maybe it did.

The wake. Tomorrow. And they had not invited her. She had, of course, expected it. But still…

She was not bothered, really. She would come, one way or another.

Matthias pushed aside one of the twigs, revealing something resembling a closet. "Dark colors huh?"
Matthias pushed past identical pairs of pants and identical pair sof shirts continouslly. He then saw his dress shirt. He wore that when he passed flying school. He pulled it out. Well at least he had a black tie. A joke passed through his mind. Maybe she could make his white shirt black. All that evil little fairy had to do was grab a couple of shadows and.... Matthias shook the thoughts from his head.some said she could read minds. Another thought passed through his mind. If on efairy from each tribe was going they would be wearing their tribe colors would they not? He pushed all his clothes aside, a purple shirt and pair of pants hung from a rack. They looked identical to all the rest of his clothes, besides its color. He stripped down to his underwear and and put on his purple clothing. He lept from his nest and took off towards the city. "wait a minute." Matthias said aloud. He flew back into his nest, grabbed his invintation, looked at the adress and took off again.
