Ghouls

A ghoul fits under the following classification; Ghouls are similar to humans in appearance but can be up to three to in rare cases seven times stronger than the average human. Furthermore, the can only eat human or ghoul meat. Normal food is unable to be digested and tastes awful due to altered biology. Ghouls also possess a kagune, a predatory organ which comes in four proverbial flavors. The kagune is usually the color of blood, however, other pigments can be differentiated.

The kagune is released from a saclike pouch located down the back, with the location lining up with a specific type. The kagune can flow like water, become hard as steel, and is often described as liquid muscle. The size and quality of this organ are dependent on the amount of Red Child(RC) cells in a ghouls blood system. RC cells can be found in human blood, as well as ghoul blood, hence why they can eat human meat. The shape of the kagune is dependent on creativity and intellect.

These are the listed RC types of ghouls. If the list is read from bottom to top the RC types defeat the RC type above it.

Ukaku or feather red kagune burst forth from the shoulder area and usually takes a winglike shape. Ghouls with this RC type tend to have high speed attacking, but tire quickly. The kagune is also very lightweight but strong and can be used to launch spike like projectiles, an ability shared only among ukaku type ghouls. A possibly rare ability linked with ukaku types is the ability to generate electric thunderbolts. The ghouls can end a battle quickly, but forming their kagune depletes stamina.

Koukaku or shell red kagune make for a very defensive type of ghoul. This RC type is released from below the shoulder blade. General shapes for this RC type are usually swords, shields, hammers, drills, and other tool-like shapes. This kagune is also incredibly heavy, leading to slower attack speeds. This reinforces the use of a Koukaku as a defensive RC type, however, with sufficient skill or training, offensive capabilities are still available.

Rinkaku or scale red kagune are typically more diverse than other kagune types in terms of shape and utility. This kagune emerges from the just above the small of one's back, taking the form of multiple appendages. Compared to most other ghouls, a rinkaku is highly resilient, with above average healing capabilities. Some ghouls of this RC type have even pulled themselves back into a solid piece after being severed in half. These RC types have a very liquid state to them, making them very brittle at times, but allowing for the diverse shaping of the kagune. The average number of tentacles to emerge from the back is between one to eight. This RC type could be considered a brute strength fighter.

Bikaku or tail red kagune emerges from the tailbone area and has a tail-like appearance. Although weak against Ukaku, this RC type is well balanced and could be considered on paper to be the ideal kagune. There can be anywhere from one to fourteen tails created at each time. There is not much else to say about these types as they are so well balanced and can act as a trump card when fighting.

Ghouls also can possess various unique abilities which are nearly limitless in terms of concept. Chimera type ghouls inherit traits from both parents if the parents have a differing RC type, giving them two kagune. Many ghouls can develop several kakuhou, the sacs from which kagune burst from. This allows for more and more replacement kagune to form.

There is also the final factor in a ghoul. The act of cannibalizing other ghouls, and consuming their higher than average RC cell count, as well as their kakuhou can lead to a mutation in the ghoul's biology. This final form of kagune is known as a kakuja, or red one, and is very rare. In most cases, a ghoul will form a half-kakuja which is an incomplete version of the mutation. The kakuja is usually an armor, encasing most if not all of the ghoul's body. The shape and size of a kakuja is most likely drawn from a ghoul's psychological factor.

The CCG

The Commission of Counter Ghoul or CCG is an authoritarian organization formed to combat ghouls. There are two classifications of investigators from the CCG, Bureau investigators and Ghoul Investigators. Bureau investigators are a very common workforce and usually deal with paperwork, files, and other office jobs.

Ghoul Investigators start at the Ghoul Investigator Training Academy, where they are enrolled for around two years. They learn various things, from Ghoul Physiology, the Ghoul Countermeasures Law, investigative protocols, equipment use, and intense physical training to prepare them for ghoul encounters. A special honors program exists to allow graduation within a year.

Ghoul investigators place their employees under ranks depending on their skill, kill count, and other factors. There are Junior investigators and Senior investigators.

Junior Investigators

Rank 3: Bureau investigators start at this rank. Investigators of this rank are seen as special cases due to them not receiving training at the Academy.

Rank 2: Most all investigators start at this rank upon graduation from the Academy.

Rank 1: The highest ranking junior investigators, they have plenty of experience, but have not reached the peak of their career. On average, Rank 1 investigators are 27 years old before they are promoted.

Senior Investigators

First Class: The lowest class of senior investigators, most investigators achieve this rank later in their career. These investigators usually train junior investigators and don't typically move past this rank.

Associate Special Class: Achieved by a small percentage, they command operations, and oversee a single ward if necessary.

Special Class: The least common and highest achievable rank of an investigator, these investigators are considered incredibly strong, and command large operations and oversee several wards at a time.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ghoul investigators can be equipped with a number of tools for exterminating ghouls. They have access to combat armor, several facilities, and weapons. They typically wear a gray trench coat or a formal suit. Ghoul investigators can choose to carry firearms and use special ammunition called Q bullets that can pierce through a ghouls skin. The most common weapon, however, is the quinque, a weapon usually contained within a bag, instrument case, even traditional sheaths, or the most common form, a briefcase. The quinque is made of the kakuhou of a ghoul and is activated through electrical impulses. The quinque can be given shape, but commonly displays traits from the ghoul it was harvested from. Each quinque also shares the respective strengths and weaknesses of the harvested RC type. A ukaku quinque can shoot projectiles, and a bikaku quinque can be a good balance for beginning investigators. Quinques can also be mass produced.

The CCG employs a rating system for the ghouls, which is decided by a few factors. A tilde (~) can be put by the rate of the ghoul if it is suspected to be at least that level and requires further evaluation. Furthermore, the rate of a ghoul does not always mean the ghoul is of a certain strength, but rather how the CCG wants to deal with the ghoul. A plus (+) symbol can be used if the ghoul is between one rank and the other, I.E. C+, between C and B rate.

C Rate: Ghouls of smaller ability, possibly children, and weak ghouls.

B Rate: Comparable to the strength of a Rank 1 to Rank 3 investigator. Average strength for common ghouls.

A Rate: Comparable to a First Class Investigator. These ghouls can be seen leading small gangs and holding mild authoritarian positions in larger organizations.

S-Rate: Comparable to an Associate Special Class, these ghouls are troublesome to deal with and usually work with SS Rate ghouls in claiming a territory. They also have substantial hunting grounds most of the time.

SS Rate: The ghouls need to be handled by multiple special class investigators, and are incredibly powerful. They are topped only by the near singular SSS types. These ghouls also tend to have other abilities and fighting styles that make them lethal beyond their kagune.

SSS Rate: The rarest rating, given only to ghouls of extreme power. The exact criteria are not known for this rating to be given, but large-scale extermination operations involving hundreds, if not thousands of investigators are usually performed to try and kill these ghouls. Although the rating system is not a measure of power, an SSS rate ghoul borders on invincible and is not advised to be taken on by a singular squad.

The Story

It's been a year since the Owl Extermination happened. (The Owl Extermination was a large-scale operation to bring down a singular SSS rate ghoul who had been posing a problem to the CCG for years.) Life seems peaceful, and spring is just around the corner. Not all is well, however. A special class investigator has taken to aggressively purging ghouls from various wards with their partner. Ghouls are afraid to hunt, and many S Rate ghouls have fallen.

There is a new ghoul group that has been slowly gathering members but has reached conflict with several other ghoul factions. Their leader, dubbed "White Raven" by both the CCG and other ghouls is attempting to gain power in order to contest with the CCG.

White Raven is also the respective mask maker for the nearby wards, offering other ghouls the chance to hide their faces from investigators, an option not readily available in the past. This is the report of the Bishop Incident, and you are one of the key players in forming its history.

Additional Information

Alright, all the long typing is done. So, welcome to this little storybook. You can choose to be human or ghoul, and really the story can go anywhere. I'm allowing up to three other ghoul groups or factions to be created, so if you want to claim a spot for one, it's first to come first serve. Here is also a list of characters needing claiming.

White Raven:

Special Class Investigator:

Associate Special Class Investigator (Partner to above Special Class):

Opposing Faction Leader:

The rest of it is up to you. I'll also allow a second special class investigator if enough people join. I need the list filled first though. Here's a list of factions where you'll be listed if you wish to join them. You can also remain independent.

White Raven Faction:

CCG:

Special Class Squad:

Opposing Faction:

Ghoul Faction:

Ghoul Group:

If you need any more information for creating your character, go to the tokyo ghoul wikia, which has tons of information. Just search what you need to be clarified. I'll shoot you a PM if you need to change anything about your character that doesn't fit with the story, but I doubt it shall come to that. Have these templates as well.

Oh, and let's just lay down some simple rules I suppose.

Rules

1.Whatever I say goes, though there shouldn't be a big issue with that.

2. Violence and Language are allowed, in fact by nature this is a very dark, gory story.
But for the love of all that is holy, no sex scenes. Fade to black or whatever.

3. Storybook rules apply

4. Don't do something to someone else's character without both their permission,
ask them first, or mine.

5. Have some fun! Get creative with your writing!

Also some useful tidbits that I didn't put in the main body paragraphs that I will continue adding to.

1. Ghouls can drink coffee. For whatever reason they can actually drink it and even use it to heal a little.

2. Make your characters powerful if you wish. In this world, both humans and ghouls have superpowers. Okay not really, but humans are usually stronger than in our own world, and ghouls are pretty hard to kill.

Now, without further ado, lets begin.
Bisexual Disaster, Master Stroke of a human being, may or may not incite a revolution.
