Backstory:

In this world, humans have evolved to co-exist with Dinosaurs. The two super-predators do not co-exist perfectly, there has always been a power struggle between them, but Dinosaur attacks on Human communities rarely if ever happen. In this world, Humans and Dinosaurs have their territories and the only real danger is going out into the wild or on hunting trips.

Over many centuries, Dinosaurs have become – dare I say – domesticated. Some Herbivories actually prefer the company of humans because they are able to be fed without venturing out alone into the wild and facing the possibility of stumbling into a Carnivore. It is not uncommon to see groups of Gatherers riding Brontosaurus' into the woods when it was time for picking, or even children playing with Abrictosaurus’ in the fields. Now, Carnivores don’t even step foot into places dominated by Human scent, preferring their wilds and attacking only when threatened by Hunters. However this friendship, this understand between Dinosaur and Human has come to an abrupt and bloody end.

Something has changed, and whatever it is, ALL Dinsosaurs have been affected. All of them have turned hostile.

Humans:

There is not one “type” of Human that exists in this time. They have evolved to adapt to their surrounding so the Humans in this world are faster, stronger, and more agile in general. They are a type of super-human. All have evolved with defensive mechanisms such as clawed hands and feet as well as sharper teeth. Tougher, armor-like skin is also something all Humans have developed. However, depending on the region (among which terrain they live in) different humans have developed different features and abilities.

Cliff Dwellers are the fastest and the most agile. They live on the side of cliffs and so must be able to make steep climbs to their homes every day. The people grow up and live on the side of cliffs so they are excellent climbers. They have smaller, lithe bodies. These are the only Humans able to run alongside Dinosaurs and even out-run some of the faster ones. Their community is a big and lively one because you can’t kill what you can’t catch.

Cave Dwellers have the most heightened senses. They are a nocturnal people and so are rarely seen out in the day time. Because of their excellent night vision, along with their other super-senses, they do their hunting after dark. You could be surrounded by a group of twenty Cave Dwellers and not know it at all. They are silent and efficient. They are paler and more feral than their cousins.

Forest Dwellers, both ground and treetop, are strongest and bulkiest in appearance. Their specialty is fighting. When you live amongst the Dinosaurs in their woods you must be ready at any time to defend yourself and your home. Forest Dwellers are the only type of Human rumored to be able to wrestle smaller Predators to the ground with their fists. They are taller and bigger than their cousins, giants amongst the people.

Plot:

After the uprising of the Dinosaurs, Humans have come together like they never have before. Forest Dwellers and Cliff Dwellers are being pushed out of their homes and have retreated to the safety of the Cave Dweller communities.

Due to rising tensions and decreasing population, the people have decided that a small band of people must go out and discover the reason for the change in the Dinosaurs. Rumors have been spreading about strange Humans seen around the Volcanic Mountains and magick. This is where our heroes sights are set.

Maybe these strange new Humans will know more about what to do.

Your Role:

Pick a Region, make a character, fight some Dinosaurs.

From the starting point, reaching the Volcanic Mountains will be around 15-20 posts (each) away depending on what our pace is set at.



I'm SO up for ideas on where you think the plot should go ^^ Feel free to make more than one character. I'll be opening spots as we need them but I have to ask for some sort of balance between region and gender. Looking for a Co-Captain as well!!
