The Knife

Intro

I am going to tell you a story. A story of revenge.

It all started with a rivalry between two people. As these stories always do, I guess.

"Alright, time's up, everyone! Please put your dishes on the presentation tables and step away from your stations. I can't possibly eat all of this, so I'm bringing some guest judges to help." The teacher smiled and folded her hands behind her back.

Bathos smiled as he brought his plate to the table. It was covered with a light cloth to hide its contents from the others, as was protocol. He didn't agree with it, but those were the rules. This was the prize. This is what would get him attention.

Ah, the beginning of the rivalry. Friends split because of one decision.

"Ethan Knox. Let's see yours." Ethan walked up to the table, sweat beading down his forehead. He presented a plate on the table, a sheet covering it like that of Bathos's dish. He stepped back from his dish as the two judges dove into Bathos's dish. They nodded and muttered, moving to Ethan's dish.
He looked at Bathos, who wore a smug grin and sighed. The judges nod and then disappear into a room. Minute pass as the two judges come out with an envelope. They both smiled at Bathos and Ethan, sitting in plastic chairs.

This was it; the decision that would split their friendship.

"We have a winner and a loser. Nonetheless, the loser is a winner for cooking for the finale. We did enjoy both meals but something stuck out to us as odd. Bathos's was rare and foreign tasting. with Moroccan spices and different vegetables. The soup was seasoned with the right amount of seasons and the broth was perfect. The only thing that struck us was that Ethan had made the same dish.
"Ethan, however, made a dish that surprised since he couldn't cook anything like it. His fish was cooked to perfection with cloves and seasoned dressing. Also his side dish of roe, tastes like the Mediterranean coastline. Therefor, the judges have agree that Ethan has won this final.

You, whoever you might be, just finished the last episode in the final season of Cooking with Chef Knox and the following episodes are reruns. It has been five months since Chef Knox had died, and only three of that spent on rumors, lies, and backstabbing. Before his death, Chef Knox published a book and soon became a worldwide best seller. However as his book was becoming famous, his restaurant business was failing immensely. The food was horrible and seemed to be raw.
After his death, his restaurant is run by his son and the left of the co-workers. Throughout their lives (and yours) are changed.
There are fewer and fewer people coming to work, and rumors are going around that one of the people working at the restaurant is killing them. As these rumors leak out into the public area of newspapers, paparazzis forged the truth in saying "The ghost of Chef Knox still lives".
You, whoever you might be, is a suspect. The only hope for you is not to be caught and killed.
