The Purge


Plot


The year is 2023, the fifth year since The Purge was started by the New Founding Fathers of America (NFFA). You've been preparing for this day for a whole year. Last year was a success, because you survived. But you have this niggling feeling in your gut that this year might be different. As soon as the clock reaches seven PM, you're ready for the long night ahead.

Whether you plan on going out or trying to stay holed up in your home as safe as possible, the night will have an affect on you somehow. All you have to do is hope you make it to the next day, alive.

Spoiler! :
Due to the fact that The Purge only takes place between 7 PM and 7 AM this may be quite a short SB. Unless we want to put in a plot twist or whatever. The SB will start at least seven hours before The Purge will start.


Setting


Set in North America, in the outskirts of Los Angeles, you have the choice to brave the streets, or stay barricaded in your home.

Characters


Your character can be anyone, within the rule guidelines of course. Your character can be for or against the idea of The Purge, and can be in their home the entire time with problems going on there, or on the streets trying to stay alive.

Rules


The Purge will commence at 7 PM, making all crimes legal
Weapons above Class 4 (explosives, rocket launchers, bazookas) aren't allowed
Government officials with authorization levels 10 and above aren't to be disturbed
No medical, police or fire emergency officials are available
No killing off characters without permission
Do not join if you have no intention of sticking to the SB
Wait at least two posts before you post again (Unless you have two characters then it's only one post)
The Purge will finish at 7 AM, making all crimes illegal again

Disclaimer


The idea for The Purge is not mine. This is based off the movies The Purge and The Purge: Anarchy written by James DeMonaco. However, the characters we create can be our own, and the events that take place don't have to follow the movie storylines.
