Commander's Log
Lt North; Earth 671; Report

The teleportation process went wrong. Equipment malfunction landed us in Layer 671, planet Earth, year 2015.671, population human, technology level 9.
We separated upon crashing. My tracker registers 11 other survivors in the sensor's range. I am located at 25.6166273, -14.6835923, along with four prisoners who are so far appearing unconscious but not fatally injured. I don't know where or in which condition the other survivors are.

The scans are damaged, but are showing a small town in relatively close proximity, surrounded by dry land on one side and ocean on the other. Without initiating contact with the locals, that is all the information I have at my disposal.

As per Protocol 7, I will do all in my power to reassemble the survivors and regain contact with the Facility. This is Hour One.

Earth that we know is just one of many.
Layer upon layer, parallel dimensions coexist, in most cases sharing little to no contact. But some are different. Within a small number of layers, the technology has developed to the point where it allows for travelling -- Layer 4 is one of those.

What is Layer 4?
One of the parallel dimensions with technology far more developed than that of [our] Earth, it's inhabited by a species not very different from humans. They share most genetic characteristics, but evolution and technological development have allowed for its inhabitants to alter their DNA and gain certain abilities, as well as to enhance and alter their bodies with the help of augmentations. The latest trend introduced to Earth 4 are the commonly called NanoKisses (NKs) -- nanobots inserted in the bloodstream that enhance the host's traits and allow for them to be transferred or otherwise used through kissing. These abilities range from affecting the physical -- eg. healing or strength -- to temporarily affecting the emotions or minds of the people kissed.

What are Facility 309 and Ward 132?
Facility 309 is sometimes also referred to as the Prison Terminal; it's a facility in Sector 4 where criminals -- people who in some way misuse their abilities or alter their DNA past the legal point -- are brought to justice and dispatched to the contextually correct prison facilities. Ward 132 is the prison awaiting the criminals who overstepped the boundaries of the use of NKs.

In this particular mission, 30 prisoners were being transported under the supervision of 10 trained guards, lead by Lt. Devin North (played by Aria). After the teleportation process was unexpectedly interrupted, they've "crashed" on an alternate version of today's Earth. Out of 40, only 12 of them survived -- 7 prisoners and 5 guards -- and at the beginning of this SB, they are randomly separated into three groups in three different areas.
It's mostly up to you what happens to them and how quickly they interact with humans or each other -- but if their base receives no word from the guards in 72 hours, the device in their bracelets (which are worn by all the citizens of Layer 4, guards and criminals alike, and are constructed to kill the wearer if they attempt to take them off) will activate a destruction sequence and eliminate all traces of Layer 4 DNA.

A couple more things you might like to know
Earth 671 is technologically on the same level as the Earth we know, and humans living there have no knowledge of other species or the layers. The area our characters are currently located in is in the place corresponding to this Earth's West Sahara. On Earth 671, it is a small independent country being torn apart by civil wars, with a number of little towns and prison camps scattered around and nomadic caravans travelling through the desert.

Slots
There is three different types of characters you can choose from -- guards, prisoners and humans. The former two come from Layer 4, and the latter are natives to Earth 671.
The SB will start in three different areas -- in the city, next to a prison camp in the city's outskirts, and in the desert relatively close to them. Both the humans and the others should initially be divided between these three locations. As the SB goes on, all of our characters are expected to move around and interact.

Humans
You can choose to be whoever you like, but try to stay realistic. Also, diversity is good. There is altogether six human slots, so keep that in mind when requesting characters. Slots will not be added - first come, first serve.
-- The city - maximum of 3 humans
-- The prison camp - maximum of 3 humans
-- The desert - maximum of 2 humans (they'd be members of a caravan)

List of abilities
Any characters submitted with an ability not on this list will not be accepted. This ability means both that your character will have it and that they will be able to affect other people by kissing them (only by kissing them) accordingly.

Spoiler! :
Healing -- the ability to heal the person kissed, as well as oneself. Limitation: the effectiveness of the healing will correspond to the severity of the injury; life threatening injuries might not be healable.
Protection -- the ability to put protection (shield) on the person kissed, as well as oneself. Limitation: can only be used once per hour and protects only against one hit/stab/bullet/etc. (so if you're hit twice in a row, the second one will do the thing)

Flight -- the ability to enable the kissed person to fly, as well as to fly personally. Limitation: lasts an hour per day per kissed person (the kisser can fly at will; but again, remember the importance of blending in with humans)
Truth -- the ability to see when others are lying, as well as to make the person kissed tell the truth. Limitation: the effect of the kiss lasts for 24 hours, and can't be used twice on the same person.
Bliss -- the ability to make the kissed person feel bliss/pleasure/euphoria, the length of the effect depending on the length of the kiss. Regardless of length, the effect is highly addictive. Limitation: the kisser constantly feels the same effect, and hence needs to wear a neutraliser (in the form of another bracelet) to be able to function.
Change -- the ability to change appearance of the person kissed, as well as one's own. Limitation: the effect on the kissed person is permanent, and the kisser can only change their own appearance into that of someone they have kissed (at any point in time).
Pain -- the ability to make the kissed person feel the pain of all the injuries they've suffered from in their lifetime, as well as the ability to feel no pain oneself. Limitation: the effect only lasts for a minute. (Also, the kisser themselves feel no pain (yes, I know I wrote it twice, think about it)).
Time -- the ability to see possible futures relating to the kissed person (and show those possibilities to them). Limitation: The ability backfires more often than not, transferring age from one kissed person to the other and making them either younger or older.
Knowledge -- the ability to gain all the knowledge of the kissed person or transfer one's own knowledge to them. Limitation: the kisser can only remember the knowledge learned for 24 hours.
Control -- the ability to put the kissed person under one's control (including seeing and hearing through them). Limitation: the effect lasts for 2 hours, and the kisser can't control more than two people at the same time.
Chaos -- the ability to make the kissed person act on their hidden desires and instincts. Limitation: the kisser doesn't know what those hidden desires and instincts are.

Sleep -- the ability to make the kissed person fall asleep, as well as the ability for oneself to go without sleep for a long time. Limitation: the kissed person will wake up after an hour if the person wasn't tired before.

literary fantasy with a fairytale flavour

I think the best thing about making it into the quote generator is when nobody tells you, so one day you're just scrolling and voila, some phenomenally inane thing that crawled out of your dying synapses and immediately regretted being born the second it made contact with the air has been archived for all time. Or worse, a remark of only average inanity. Never tell me when you've put me in the generator. Pride-tinged regret just doesn't taste the same without the spice of surprise.
