The year is 2020 and something terrible has happened. In an effort to try and increase oxygen levels and generally combat the steadily worsening Global Warming epidemic, Scientists collaborated on a mutation that would both increase pure oxygen in the atmosphere while also eliminating pollution and, in a sense, fixing the growing hole in the o-zone layer.

Things were working great until they were no longer working great. Something in the chemical balance of the mutation (dispersed around the country in the form of a spray applied to all crops and forested areas) caused it to backfire, emitting nitrogen into the atmosphere instead and completely overpowering and eliminating oxygen.

In short, oxygen levels are depleting and there is now no longer enough oxygen in the air to breathe. People are dying.

In this story, we are a group of survivors located in an underground bunker somewhere in the middle of America. We had oxygen tanks pumping breathable oxygen into our humble home, but we are realizing that our reserves are running dangerously low. The small garden we've managed to upkeep isn't doing much for us either. A new plan needs to be made, and soon.

For now, we will try and survive. We could either wait for rescue or formulate our own escape.
