Ahh... been a while since I posted on YWS... quite a while I suppose...

I'll be getting straight on to business then... I've been following your storybook for a while now... staying true to my name I suppose :D

I noticed that you had come to a small standstill... so... I'm requesting permission to take over gleek456's character... and at the same time create a character of my own... if it's okay with everyone else?

*Okay... since no one disagreed :P yet :) I'll post my profile.*

*If anyone has anything against it, just say so and I'll be happy to change it as much as possible :P I though introducing a more 'evil' doctor figure would seem interesting, hehe. I'll go on and post either way... so yeah*

Age: 25

Gender: Male

Name: Malcom 'Mal' Connery

Appearance: He is of average height and quite thin. His black hair tends to fluctuate between a sleek professionally look and an untidy one. He has a tanned, almost brown skin and black irises. His eyes look normal but tend to get wider and more 'crazy' when he is excited or showing most emotions. He keeps his hands in his pockets most of the time and grows his left thumb nail for fun (which is currently about 4.5 cm from the root).

Personality: He is quite unpredictable and is for the most part very eccentric and gets excited for the strangest reasons. He acts childishly but can be very resourceful and clever when needed. He is somewhat outgoing, tending to socialise with whomever he can although preserving a superiority complex most of the time. He is ruthless at times and cannot show sympathy or empathy towards any living being, showing mercy only when it interests him. He also has an unnerving fascination with blood and pain bordering sadism.

Brief History: He is an orphan and was used as a labrat when he was much younger. Whilst being transported to another facility the group of children he was with staged an uprising and were hurt badly. Using what he had learnt while watching the procedures on and around him, he was able to keep several of his friends from dying of blood-loss and cardiac arrest. Soon after he was released into the custody of a MediSyn shareholder, tortured brutally, brainwashed thoroughly and personally taught medicine. Personalising in psychology and graduating with high honours Mal was instantly given a high position in the Medisyn firm but requested a transfer to a smaller facility with bad test results and a low success rate. In a few months he was able to turn the place around and increase their efficiency by 34%. Since then he Medisyn sends him to facilities that they decide need superior observance. Although his methods are unorthodox and for the most part involve subtle psychological experimenting on the staff as well as the labrats, they produce results and thus, though he has high authority, Medisyn does not acknowledge his existence.

Other: Mal views emotions as merely scientific phenomenon that can be, like most scientific phenomenon, expected and overcome. In other words he does not understand emotion completely, yet prefers to try to keep up the act. He does not get angry but can easily get on the nerve of someone. He shows mercy or any sort of kindness only when the person interests him. Love too, to him, though important is merely an illusion or sorts.

Guys, I've just had a brain wave :D but I'll need everyone's approval before I post it, especially Chirantha's!

Okay, so do you guys remember on one of my posts I mentioned that there is a journalist lurking in Medisyn pharmaceuticals and Mr. Montgomery was going to get some corportate spies in to try to find out who the journalist is...I decided that the journalist should be Mandy, Dmitri's new receptionist, she's hired by a rival company and is writing and building up a case to expose to the world the crimes that Medisyn is comitting and to bribe them with it. My second idea is that Mandy finds out about the spies and decides the best thing to do to get the spies off her trail is to convince them and Dmitri that Dr. Grey is actually the secret journalist by showing them video footage of Dr. Grey breaking into Dmitri's office. This will cause awesome friction between the doctors.

So that's it, I know, it's a lot to take in. Call me crazy (because I probably am), but I'd love to know what you guys think.

Hahaha, three cheers for craziness!!

I agree with RedBird! :D I think it's pretty good (I.e. awesomeness!!!) too. It's going to be really interesting to see how the doctors react to having a scenario where one of their own is accused as a cooperate spies whilst at the same time there's a insane 'supervise'.

That actually works out pretty well, you could keep Mal out of the loop and keep it between yourselves. Enter more tension! :D

Coco, are you planning to keep Mandy as a sub-character or change her to a Main Character? I think leaving her as a sub-character would be fine, right?

You could have Mandy trying to convince Mal that Dr. Grey is the spy as well, after all if Dr. Grey is taken into custody Mandy's going to be safe for a while.

I have a question though. Is Mandy a cooperate spy or a journalist or both? Does she pity the mice children like the doctors or is she like the guards?

Writing of mice... now I want to hug mice... real mice that is... sigh....

Aw, thanks guys, I'm glad you liked it! Firestalker, I think I'll keep Mandy as a sub-character, I was actually planning on making a profile on her and turning her into a main character, but I think I prefer keeping her this way because it gives a mystery element to her which is relevent considering her purpose  Also, I love your idea of having Mandy convince Mal as well, after all, the more people she convinces, the safer she'll be.

As far as your question on whether Mandy is a cooperate spy or a journalist or both, I vote for both. I picture her as a journalist who needs a break and is hired by one of the rival pharmaceutical companies to 'spy' for them to find out Medisyn's secrets so they can exploit them. That way, she gets her article, and the rival companies get the upper hand on Medisyn. Maybe, Mandy might start pitying the 'mice' who know's, maybe she even decides to help them in their futile aim of escaping....

Chirantha still needs to give me the thumbs up for this, though. After all, it's her character that gets put in the spotlight :D

Yeah, you have a point. Keeping her as a sub-character will give a mystery element into the storybook. It'll also reduce complications that could arise from having more characters.

I'm glad your open to the whole pitying scenario. If we do run into some brick walls later in the storybook, the pitying arc would certainly help us get back on our feet. As for Chirantha... hmm, I don't think he'll disagree, but who knows... we'll see soon enough :P

Sorry for not replying earlier. I haven't subscribed to the topic so I have no idea if anyone posts in it or not.

Hmm... So, what would happen to Dr. Grey when she's taken into custody? She won't be removed from the storybook right? But whichever way it goes, I'm all for it.

By the way, that was a great idea, *coco. :D

Thanks Chirantha :D I'm really glad you liked it!

I've been thinking about it and I think Dmitri would be the kind of person to get Dr. Grey out of any trouble. Yes, he would initially be shocked that she broke into his office, but I think all the doctors (apart from Mal, Von Ray and O'Reily :P ) have a good respectful relationship and support each other. At the end of the day Dmitri will realise that Grey did it because she wanted to save the test subject so I think he would understand and not be angry at her. Maybe after the misunderstanding clears, the two of them could partner up and try to work out who the real 'bad' people are in the company.

Okay, that seems good.

So, should I start this plot in my next or are you going to? Because I can connect Zire's last post, with my post and connect that Mandy, and get Dr. Grey caught.
