What do you think about every character having a 'special power'?
For example, your character might be able to see into the future or know exactly when someone is lying? Although, that would be the only 'magical' thing that they could do?
Personally Skins, I like it the way it is without powers. It's what drew me to the storybook in the first place.
"The moral of this story, is that if I cause a stranger to choke to death for my amusement, what do you think I’ll do to you if you don’t tell me who ordered you to kill Colosimo?“
Agreeing on the no powers thing. Question: do we start already in the resistance, or do we go through the whole 'decide we're tired of the current situation, hey those people think the same thing let's gang up' process?

Personally I'm okay with either; they've both got their pros and cons. Starting from scratch allows to start from a complete blank slate, characters have never met each other, stuff happens. My main problem with it is that I have trouble seeing how exactly they'd start meeting and decide to actually create a resistance. OTOH, if we start already in, then we can handwave that issue. But then I guess they'd at least vaguely know each other, have set patterns of interaction?
Or maybe I'm thinking about this too much and making it more complicated than it has to be.
