@Elinor @looseleaf Just FYI—we're currently at around 1,970 words in the pad right now. There are a few places for Aloysius and Caroline to insert some dialogue and such, and a portion that hasn't gotten written yet. I think we can for sure make it to 2,500, but hopefully, y'all can hop in the pad sometime before the day is over to add some stuff!

I’m heading to bed soon, but just a reminder, since the post isn’t up yet!

I JUST got home and settled. Making some tea and then I'm going to add my stuff shortly. Thanks!

Should we write a longer post again for this week or individually? And if the former, should we already agree on a date to meet up?

I'm going to be busy the next few weeks (up until the 27th), so I don't know if there will be many times I'm free to meet until then. If you guys want to collab and I can fill in spots later, though, I'm fine with that.

Same here, I'm pretty much only available on the weekends. But I'm sure we can figure something out!

I think we can write another big post. Then we'll split it into a few parts:

1) Meeting and the flat
2) Everyone looks for the flat again on their own.
3) Find the clue

1) Someone would have to write it and then we add the dialogue (for example, why is Hoover there?, or something).

2) Everyone can write their big part, which is discovered. (We just have to decide who finds the clue).

3) Dialogues again, maybe we stay in a park, because we are probably not allowed to go to the restaurant with Hoover...)

So everyone still has time to add their own things. Any suggestions for improvement?

Then next week we can write our own posts again, where everyone follows up on their clues as to what the clue might mean. So it's a kind of mixture of filler and story progression.

Then we just have to decide how to continue.

That sounds good, but we should probably get on it— I can start drafting today, but I won’t be free to start until this afternoon my time, though, so if anyone wants to get started already, they can!

Wait, so we're writing another big post, but adding to it on our own time? That would probably be best for me as I'm busy today and I'm going to have scattered availability tomorrow and Sunday.

If someone else can get started, I'll make time to add to it sometime before Sunday evening!

If you want, you can write the opening, @Plume. I was going to sit down tonight and write my part for the search as well.

How many rooms did Grant's flat have again? Bathroom, bedroom, kitchen and a small hallway? If everyone picks something out of there, we can then also prepare the dialogue later when we find Grant's notebook/diary with the last word.

I posted my part in the pad. I have now taken the bedroom to search and found nothing.

So, we've already planned that for this week and also for next week, where we'll all write a little bit ourselves about what we're going to do with the number and how we might relate it to Grant.

For next week, it would be good if we meet again at the speakeasy, where we might be told by the owner not to come here if we're always just snooping around and have to find another place to stay. Or we can bring in a policeman who meets us there undercover or privately because he saw us in the flat to find a little turning point in the story.

Great work Mailice! I wrote a bit in the pad as well— we still need a character to actually discover the clue, and given what's been written so far it's not in the bedroom or the kitchen... maybe it's hidden in the hallway somewhere?

I like that plan for next week; I was also thinking maybe it's when Julian takes a look at the books for the Golden Vanderbilt and maybe finds something doesn't add up? I can't remember if we ever decided that Grant was actually embezzling money from the speakeasy to settle gambling debts. But that could also thicken the plot.

And for the week after that, that should work! Honestly, if we wanted, we could throw in both of those plot points, too—we'll wait and see what we want to do at the end of next week though, unless someone has a strong opinion now!
