It does! If we went the route of having D&D!us and players!us, you're suggesting that we have a more tagbook/storybook-esque style of writing the players!us, and a more regular old roleplay style of writing the D&D!us.

Speaking of what we're potentially doing, here's a running tally of interest in each idea:

Both: 1

D&Difying Us:

D&Difying Pre-Existing Characters: 2

I included @GrandWild, @HarryHardy, and I's votes in the tally, but I'd be happy to add @SilverNight, @Vincian, and @winterwolf0100's in, too! I just wasn't sure which option you preferred, so I kept you off of the tally for now. :)

Sorry for the double-posting/double-tagging, @SilverNight, @Vincian, and @winterwolf0100, but I thought I'd give this thread a nudge and ask what kind of story you'd like to do more! :)

I think both would be fun (but I’m happy with D&Dfying existing characters as a second choice)!

@SilverNight, that's good to know! :)

And @winterwolf0100, I could explain the two ideas more! The first idea is that we would make high fantasy/D&D versions of ourselves. So I might have a character!me named Magestorrow bringing back that old username that's a sorcerer in the D&D world the roleplay is set in. But that idea also involves another layer where there's also us as the writers/players in an actual D&D campaign, so it has a fourth wall breaking twist to it. We would be writing for our characters as they explore the D&D world, and for the non-D&D versions of us playing the campaign as well.

The second idea is that we take pre-existing characters, make them random D&D races and classes, and throw them into a D&D world without giving them an in story explanation. For example, you might take Kritanta, turn her into a tiefling warlock (even though she very much remembers not being one) and throw her into D&D. She would have to figure out why she's no longer in her world, has weird powers, and looks so different.

I hope that helps!

I'm down for both options! I love the idea of making fantasy versions of ourselves but I'm also super interested in throwing our own characters into the mix and see how they'll interact so yeah :D

@Vincian that's a mood every time anyone asks me to make a major decision

We have three people are down for both and three people who are down for just D&D-ifying our characters, so it looks like the characters getting thrown into D&D roleplay is the one that we're doing.

Now we just have to pick our characters. :P

*gives roleplay a little nudge*

I admittedly hadn't given this roleplay much thought recently because college gets busy leading up to Thanksgiving break, but I made a new character today and would love to throw her into this as my D&D-ifyed character. Normally, she's a girl with magic who can see ghosts, so I'm trying to figure out if I want to honor that with her power set in this roleplay or if I want to completely throw her off by giving her something like a sword. >>

Does anyone else have ideas for their characters?

Oooh...she sounds cool!

Hmm...I haven't had a chance to prepare a character for this quite yet, but I have a few potentially entertaining combos in mind.

The one I'm liking the most is actually kind of similar to that idea...I was planning on throwing Vankous into this [for context, he's a physically rather weak humanoid who relies heavily on his rather powerful magic] and making him have to use a weapon he can't even normally lift. :D

So just to be clear, the idea is that the character is aware they’re being thrown into a new scenario with nobody they know, and just has to roll with it? (Ba-dum *tss*)

That's exactly what it is, @winterwolf0100! :)

And @HarryHardy, I love that idea! That would be hilarious.
