SOOO, I don't want to do too much planning before @JasmineFelicia and @Tenyo create their characters, but I was thinking about the paper thing (again). I was originally thinking there'd only be one thing on each slip of paper (one of those things being the scientist guy/gal), but would it make more sense to have a list of two or three things on each slip?
Like, I doubt a scientist could make a time machine out of four objects, unless he has the other parts needed.
Maybe each paper could have parts of a blueprint, or a way to find the blueprints/other clues? The papers could lead to a library, or somewhere where the remaining clues/parts could be hidden?

I'm still tweaking my character but here is the first draft if it helps with planning stuff. Most of it will stay the same I'm just going to make it concise and eloquent (and edit because I misunderstood how to format the personality section.)

Name: Levi Ronan James Bridgefort. Age: 18 Gender: Male
Appearance: Average height and fairly lean and toned, with dark blonde hair that's just long enough to tie the upper layers back, blue eyes and a yellowish tan that's darker on his face and shoulders. He stands quite upright in posture and whilst his facial expression tends to be soft with a light smile, his expressions are limited, ranging from polite smile to slight concern, regardless of the situation. At the time he wakes up in the story he's wearing black trousers, comfortable but slightly formal shoes, and a light blue chequered shirt with a white vest underneath.
Personality: - Strengths: He is a product of his upbringing, having learned hard work and discipline from his military schooling. He's polite and witty, able to give a good first impression and maintain appearances, and is very rare to complain. He's accustomed to being able to push himself out of his comfort when there's a task that needs to be done and determined to see it through.
- Weaknesses: He reacts poorly to failure, seeing each individual mistake as an inherent weakness in himself that he will compulsively try to overcome. He has a rigid sense of virtue and order, and whilst he is kind in his correction of others he will correct them none the less, assuming that others have the same compulsive drive to better themselves as he does. He has a boiling pot kind of temper in that he'll maintain his calm for a long time before doing something brash and destructive, usually punching an inanimate object.
History: A soon to graduate British schoolboy who's spent much of his life either in military school or training summer camps. He's used to being near the top of most of his classes, but his drive and determination often left him fairly solitary during his free time. Those he bonded with he did so through work and shared experiences rather than socialisation.
Whilst his background has given him a lot of advantages in discipline and physical aptitude, he doesn't have much experience of life outside of his structured environment.
Other:
If time travel is possible (and assuming we can't create a paradox that will destroy the world), each piece of paper could be an item that hasn't been invented yet, or the knowledge of how to make is patented or not widely known. Something that seventy years later might be common knowledge. (My research into this informed me that frisbees weren't invented until 1948 and I feel like this needs to be an essential part of a time machine =D )
I love Levi, @Tenyo! The personality section looks good! I like the idea of having things on the paper that aren't widely known/not invented yet. Maybe we could do one person with the scientist, one or two with something that has been invented, and two or three things that haven't been invented yet (including a frisbee ). Or, if we do the list idea, those numbers increase.
Maybe the frisbee (once the machine's put together) spins to create energy!
I am nearly done with my character, but I have no idea whether they should be male or female, and I also am having trouble with the name. Do guys have any suggestions?

It doesn't matter what gender (or if they're non-binary, genderfluid, etc.) they are, but if you're looking for name suggestions, I always use this website to help.
