Hmm, so taking @TinkerTwaggy's suggestion, I think I might keep my character as a elementalist using water for healing and fire for attacks. Water is her strength, but fire is not too bad (I can imagine her conjuring up a ring of fire around herself to intimidate people and keep foes away :P )! Would that be cool with y'all?
always daydreaming, always clumsy

@PrincessInk The ring of fire has SO MUCH YES in terms of descriptive potential. And if there's one thing I've learned from Batman, it's that intimidation well-done can. Legit. WORK.

But yes, totally cool with me too! Never sayin' no to MOAR heal XD Glad to have your character onboard, m'dear!

Is this storybook still accepting? If so, then would it be okay if I joined?

@Dilbert64, it certainly is! I was actually planning on asking you if you wanted to join when I got a chance to. :) I'll go add you to the list of people involved over in the actual SB.

@Dilbert64 First off: that is a glorious Wishiwashi schooling avatar you got there, m'dear. That alone proves that you have a keen understanding of winning at life. I mean I could say the same about Mage's N or Ink's Christmas-Hatted Snow White, but they know about their Life Win Ratio already.

...I think. Well, now they do.

Second: Oh goodness the actual artificer class of DnD. Oh my god the inventors that totally unlock magic from everyday objects.
What am I doing makin' stuff up when this is DnD-inspired and there are so many possibilities to enjoy from it. ARGH. This is lovely.

If there's two characters who can support, then should my character be more offense orientated?

You don't have to! In my case, for instance, my character is s mixed attacker which gives off passing healing, so she can still very much generate proper aggro and act as an evasive tank.
If you're going with an artificer, versatility is bound to be part of your character, so you can use items to debuff and help offense, or buff allies to help in every way.

What are you personally looking for, m'dear? Option-wise, I mean. We can work things out rather easily, but it's best to do so if you have something in mind to work with, even if it's just an imprecise idea.

@Dilbert64, my personal opinion is that anything goes! I don't usually structure storybook casts around characters' individual abilities, and my experience with D&D (though this is only loosely inspired by it, since I still need to teach myself how to DM and go to more sessions) says having an unevenly balanced group lets there be a lot of fun challenges in the story.

(My group had at least three druids, if I'm remembering right.)

Haha, that, and it's generally hilarious/fun to experiment with whatever preferences we have and maximize everyone's worth to make the best out of what we have, rather than having a balanced party from the getgo :3

That's what I'm aiming to do, at least.

Due to how storybooks usually end up working out, we'll plan out what will happen ahead of time based on our characters and whatever direction we choose to go in. I might also have a few secret plans up my sleeves, so I might make something work or not work depending on how it would affect what I'm scheming.

I hope that helps!
