Background

A long time ago Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm suddenly started seeing past the illusions that allowed monsters to hide among humans. No one is sure why this change came about them. But after hearing a handful of horror stories about the monsters, they came to the conclusion that something needed to be done. Normal weapons don't work well on monsters, so the Grimm brothers eventually discovered a new type of weapon made out of a rare mineral. They had countless weapons made.

Both ended up having children, and the family job of documenting those legends while also wiping out monsters was passed down to them. As the years went by, the families their descendants formed eventually took possession of specific weapons. The weapons could be anything. A rifle, a knife or even a seemingly normal wooden staff could be used.

Now it's November of 2017, and a fair share of the descendants have decided that upstate New York is the perfect place to hunt for monsters. With a balance of woodlands and open fields, it's almost certain that one is roaming about. The Grimms that receive the mysterious letter are either teenagers who are just beginning to see the world that's been hidden from them, or are adults in their twenties who are still struggling to balance their heritage with their jobs.

Character Templates

The templates are listed in the spoiler. Please delete anything in the parentheses! That information is there to help you create your character. Your character can either be a Grimm or a monster. There's no requirements for making a Grimm character. If you want to make a monster, you need to point me in the direction of a fairy tale that they're based off of.

You can only have one character at the moment, but that might change in the future depending on how many people are interested in the storybook.

Spoiler! :
Code: Select all
Name:
Grimm or Monster: (If they're a monster, please specify what type.)
Age:
Gender: (Nonbinary and transgender characters are cool with me! Just remember to include what pronouns they prefer.)
Appearance: (If they're a monster, please include what they look like in their monster form.)
Personality: (Please include their flaws.)
Up for Romance: (If they are, please include what their sexuality is.)
Backstory: (Monsters would most likely have more tragic ones, but a Grimm character may have lost a family member to monsters. It's up to you.)
Weapon: (This only applies to characters that are descendants of the Grimm brothers.)
Other:

Hello there! Please introduce yourself and claim a role here.

Hello! My name is Sae, and I'm the one running this storybook. If you have any questions about it, please don't be afraid to ask them. I'll mainly be writing for a Grimm, but I'll always occasionally post for the monster. They may also end up becoming a NPC in the future.

This storybook is based on the show Grimm.

For anyone who is interested, there's both a WriterFeedPad and a Discord for this storybook. The Discord you can find it on is actually one for all of my storybooks, but you can mute the channels you're not interested in.

The password for the WFP is "Warehouse".

Hey, I'm Fea (short for Feather). Can I claim a monster? I've never seen Grimm, either, but it looks really interesting! :D

Not particularly, gonna go brush up on my fairy tales :P

I'm assuming we're only looking at Brothers Grimm fairy tales?

@FalconryGirl9086, yup! For example, the two types of monsters I've currently come up with is are werewolves (Little Red Riding Hood) and raven-people (The Seven Ravens).

@XxXTheSwordsmanXxX and @Steggy, welcome to the storybook! I'll go put you down as Grimms.

@Saentiel

As we are likely to have multiple hunters in the Grimm, I think I will go for more of the knowledgeable scholar? THe character that has studied and read about all the different creatures rather than any combat experience.
